Good pants for hiking/camping
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good, lightweight pants with flexible wear while still durable.

Pants need a better zipper they catch on the fabri
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Zipper needs some improvement not a good thing when you have to take your pants off to repair the problem

Pockets need to be solid
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I dislike the mesh front pockets. Keys snag and rip

Good quality, but no stretch
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Well made and functional. The fit is a bit snug in the butt, and the fabric has no stretch. Great pants if you don't have much of a butt. Would be great if a bit more room in the butt, or a bit of stretch in the fabric. I have proportionately larger than average butt

Unraveling of quality
The stitching on both pair of convertible pants I purchased failed miserably. One pair arrived with no stitching on the bottom of the rear pocket rendering it useless. The other rear pocket has now also come unattached. The crotch on both pair have failed and I've had to mend them. I thought Columbia stood for quality, now that perception is also frayed. We will see if it's beyond repair.

Made to last!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 32 x 30
Ii wore the predecessor to these Columbia convertibles for over 25 years. The only noticeable wear and tear was a hole in the seat from sitting down on my pack lantern after a bit too much Macallan 12 at the end of a long hike in the Smokeys. The only things on that mountain older than that scotch were my buddy and I and those pants...and maybe an old black bear. But my pants probably had that blackbear beat. The newer version appear even more durable, with a cool ripstop material. I like the straight legs on these, but hemmed in the inseam by 1.5" to give them a sleeker look--extremely easy to do for any guy. I rarely converted my old ones into shorts, but even that zipper held to the bitter end. They are now ceremoniously laid to rest in the Summit County landfill. The new ones may just outlast me, although I hope not.
