Amazing backcountry ski

This has been my first season on the La Nieve's and holy moly I love these skis. They are the perfect weight for a BC ski and can handle anything. Not too light but they float on powder and can certainly carve on the hard pack. My go-to recommendation for anyone looking to get an all-around backcountry ski.

The La Nieve has been my go-to on all my backcountry adventures in the PNW. Its light enough to keep your pace on the uptrack, keeps and edge on steep kick turns and then can handle whatever unpredictable conditions you may meet on the way down. If I could make one different decision about this ski it would have been to size down because realistically there are not a lot of days i needed a 180 in the backcountry but I'm sure I wont regret that decision when I take them to Japan this year!

This is my 2nd time getting this ski. I was already obsessed with it and when it was time to retire my other La Nieve there was no doubt I would be getting the exact ski for my touring setup. This year's ski, Coalition made the La Nieve stiffer and I didn't think it was possible for me to love the ski more but they made it happen. I'm an expert skier, 5'2", and 120lbs and usually like to ski a ski around 166-68 in length. I got the 162 length in the La Nieve to help with the uphill and I'm so happy I did. I tested this ski out on Mt. Tuk down in the La Sals range and it blew my mind. I had no problem holding an edge an getting kickturns first try (the conditions where icy, can't hold an edge, 1 step forward, 2 steps back kinda day). But when I skied the big face is when the ski really got me. I was expecting it to be a little less stable at high speed because the length I chose but this wasn't the case at all. The ski was so responsive, stable and maneuverable. Whether it was steep, technical jump turns getting into my chosen line, high speed, frozen snowpack turns, or powering through the crud snowballs, this ski made me ski confidently even though the conditions were less than ideal. I literally feel like it's my touring batmobile! I also skied it inbounds on a 2ft overnight storm day and the skis had me floating through pow effortlessly and jumping on cliffs felt super solid. I would 1000% recommend this ski for touring, sidecountry or resort!!

Living in Colorado I was worried having so much ski underfoot was wishful thinking, but buying these skis were the best decision. I have had all of my best memories skiing on them. They float on fresh snow making it the only ski you want to be on on a powder day.

These skis crush. They're my backcountry boards and boy are they fun. I spent a full winter with them in the Tetons and had a blast every single day. They are quick on the uphill, float due to their width, but still edge super well on hardpack. They aren't the most maneuverable in tight trees, but I also sized up to challenge myself so I think that's probably user error :)

Coalition Snow combined the best elements of our SOS and Abyss powder board, added significant backcountry travel design essentials, and tightened and lightened up our already stiff and popular skis to bring the ladies what they were asking for; a lightweight, high performance, versatile backcountry board to shred hard on! The la Nieves, come in at just under 6 lbs, are kind and easy on the ascent and killer on the descent. High performing and reliable in powder, corn, steeps, and even in firm and crud these boards will answer your call for great ski adventure anywhere on the planet. The ski is stiff and maintains Coalition's commitment to flex and high performance for skiers who are ready to reap the benefits of their years of experience and have a ski that can keep up. She features an early rise tip and slight tail rocker with a bit of camber under foot. I have toured and skied the la Nieve in numerous locations and I can honestly say it has held up in variable, reliable, and unpredictable conditions. The lightweight factor is essential for long tours and steep bootpacks and the endless adventure the back country ski tours can bring. Cut some skins and make room in your quiver for the one and only backcountry ski to combine light-weight, high performance, flex and versatility to shred- made for women by women
