Limped all vacation
These must be poorly designed; strap from one flop rubbed one of my raw on the first true use in the wild. Chaco offered no remedy, hid behind their "unworn" policy and indicated they would not stand behind their product....despite using their size/fit chart and testing out around the house for a few days. They did offer me 20% to purchase another product which is insulting! Bottom line, these DO NOT perform in the wild…. look elsewhere for water flops and your feet will feet will definitely thank you.

Jury is still out
My review is still out. I wore the new sandals for the first time. Not sure if they come off the line with a coating, oily & very slick? Both feet the toe straps rubbed blisters on the top of my feet. I used Dawn mild dish soap & gave them a soak rinsed with fresh water & air dried. I’ll give them another trial. Construction appears to be solid.

Chaco quality but heavier than the classic
I am a very big fan of the Chaco brand as it is always high quality. Unfortunately, this flip is very heavy and not as flexible as the others. I require consistent support so it's hard to find a flip flop that offers what I need. I was hoping it would just be an upgrade to the classic but the improved outsole makes it much heavier.

Tough as nails
Tough as nails, and has tread which can pick up dirt, but I bought them for outdoor use. I have a different pair that I use inside that feel like pillows on my feet.

The original Chaco flip flop, reincarnated
I virtually lived in my original pair of venerable old Chaco flip flops with a Vibram sole back in the early 2000s. They lasted about a decade. So I mourned when Chaco discontinued them. Their related models "the eco-tread," "the classic," etc. never met the same functional standard IMO, nor did similar models from other brands. So I was delighted to see that Chaco has brought back a flip flop with a Vibram sole and bought a pair to try them out to see if I would resume being a Chaco customer. If you're looking for the old best-in-class Chaco flip flop to be reincarnated, my first impression is that this is pretty much it. The sole is high quality and very grippy on wet surfaces; it may be a touch thicker than the original model, but not dramatically so. The foot bed feels like the same non-slippery material as other Chaco flips. The straps feel a little stiff, but there is always a break in period. The birds-eye view shape of the shoe is identical to the past. I cannot comment on durability because I have only owned these for a month or so. But if you have fond memories of the original Chaco flip flop, like I do, I think you will be pleased. Sizing: I've always preferred a size smaller than my shoe size in Chaco flips; that's true for these too. I don't think they run small. I just prefer a tighter fit and having my toes closer to the edge when hiking with them.

Not crazy about them
They are a little large and loose. They are really heavy. For as much as they cost I was hoping for more.

Sold flip
Solid flip. Good grip. Noticeably heavier than the standard flip but that’s not an issue. The shoes are at home on the trail or the boat ramp.
