Why We Like The R5 Dura Ace Di2 Road Bike
Nothing fuels our passion for cycling like the adrenaline that comes with racing, and the R5 Dura Ace Di2 Road Bike is Cervelo's offering for a steed that takes us further and pushes our limits to the max. It's a bike that delivers high performance, consistently. We like that it's extremely lightweight, responsive, and efficient, which are ideal characteristics in a bike we regularly turn to when we're pinning on a number to chase down our loftiest goals. Cervelo designed this bike without compromising for anything from weight to stiffness, or aerodynamics to efficiency.
Cervelo claims the R5 is their stiffest road frame to date, and that's saying something considering their other top-performance racing models. This means that the R5 is efficient as all heck and that it responds quickly to input. But, it's also designed for speed, so Cervelo ensured stability and predictability in its design. We appreciate the smooth ride the R5 delivers thanks to compliance engineered into the frame, and the clearance for 30-millimeter tires. This reduces fatigue over cobbles, choppy pavement, and over the course of big mile days. Cervelo's Pro Fit offers the lowest frame stack heights to enable aerodynamic riding positions, and Squoval Max tubes work to reduce drag when we're faced with windy days.
