Bring it on - I'm ready!
Good, heavy nylon rain pant with all the bells and whistles and ready to take on the elements. The black pants will make you look like you know what you're doing and won't let you down. Heavyweight in all the aspects needed. These will last a long time - time enough to get some stories behind them. Looses fit will allow ease in getting off and on - an appreciated feature when struggling with low energy. Zippered legs will allow good fit over boot tops once you get them on. I wish they had suspender buttons - I will sew some on.

Plastic waste buttons keep breaking.
After first day of use, one plastic button broke off. On the second day, the other one broke. I brought them back to where I purchased them for exchange. Second set, after about 5x wearing them, the plastic button broke again. Terrible. I was told these are the new pants and they made the buttons plastic for electrical work. Well, guess they made the wrong choice. Besides, if you're doing electrical work, you're already in the rain getting wet. So put the metal buttons back on.

Loose fit is too loose on Storm Defender for a 6’, 180 pound male. M is better.
I like the pants. Here’s my tip to the next wearer: I order, normally, I Carhartt pants , 34 waist/30 length or 34/32. These Storm pants in L are really too big, a bit to floppy. I’ve been wearing the as ski pants, a good application. I also use the Carhartt bib overalls (about the same price, $125) as ski pants and motorcycle pants, the same way I’ll plan to use these. Also as foul-weather gear on my sail boat. I’d like these a bit better if they came in something less Loose-Fit.

New updated version of rain pants
I bought a size medium and size large in the short length. I am normally a medium in your outerwear but mediums in these are way too tight in the waste. The large fit better but the legs are extremely wide in both sizes. The length was similar to all other short inseams and fit right. The quality and look is great but sizing is bad. The belt loop holes and updated version of the Velcro adjusting area in the waist are a giant improvement. If you’re going to order a pair I suggest getting your regular size and the next size up to find the proper fit.
