We don't always shred the downhill: Sometimes the trail catches up to our skill and makes us bail or worse, biff. For that little added protection, we strap on CamelBak's Chase Protector Vest, which works triple duty as armor, caddy, and hydrator, meeting all our needs as we rip berms and brave booters.

I'm in my 50's and
I'm in my 50's and don't move like I once did. I carry my tools and pump in the pack and I was always concerned if I landed on my back they would probably cause some extra injury. I believe the Protector panel will help spare me that if I find myself wrong side up. I also like the vest/pack hybrid with pouches up front. It gives me an easily accessible place to keep my snacks and phone when I want to listen to music while I ride. The pack is well made and a little beefier than a normal cycling pack. I do think it will hold up in any crash I might have. This pack might not cover your lower back, but I believe Camelbak has a model that will if that is a concern. Also, If you expect to crash and need a back protector I would look for something more specific for that. I'm very happy with this purchase. It's exactly what I need.

Good product, well designed
Overall the Chase Protector Vest is a quality design. The adjustability and comfort of the best is a great advantage over a traditional hydration pack. I use mine MTB, so needless to say lots of movement, but the Vest has minimal movement. The Vest carries plenty of gear and snacks for a short trail ride and is light weight. The only negative is the price point, not too affordable.

Good best
So let's just say first and foremost it's my opinion and experience having read the "one" review on this vest I going to dismiss it for me at least I have used it for biking /hiking leisurely walk in countryside and to behonest no found a immediate issues with it it's not perfect but it's usable bit of kit now whether it's worth the money is up to you
