The public may be able to occasionally tour the Craig's, Burton's new R&D lab/proto facility, but exactly what goes on there is still shrouded in secrecy. Only a handful of boards emerge each day from the confines of Craig's (appropriately named after Craig Kelly, riding pioneer), and the new Mystery Snowboard is one of them. Burton won't say much, but we do know that the innovative Mystery construction shaves weight (to the point where it's their lightest board ever) while enhancing feel and strength. We could throw in verbiage about blasting off booters, killing it in the park, etc., etc., but really, all you need to know is that this is pretty much as good as it gets. With a board this extraordinarily light, fast, snappy, and surfy strapped to your feet, the mountain is yours.

- Flying V hybrid camber/rocker puts camber underneath the bindings and rocker at the tip, center, and tail of the board for float in powder, edge control, and plenty of pop
- Multizone EGD places the wood perpendicular under the your feet in four different zones to optimize edge control
- Frostbite Edges protrude from under your bindings for extra grip; they're also stainless steel to resist rust and corrosion to stay razor-sharp
- Methlon base incorporates Teflon (possibly the world's slickest substance) to make an screamingly fast base that's also incredibly durable and low-maintenance
