Recently bought 2 spot 400's for Scouting purposes. So far we are really happy, I like the dimming feature and the lock function keeps my son's light off in his day bag. We will be trying the rechargeable batteries next. My first Black Diamond purchase, but not my last.

Squatch Expedition

I am pleased with my headlamp. I will be camping in Michigan in September looking for bigfoot. I feel confident my headlamp is up for the job and will not fail me.

Your headlights have always been compact. The Spot 400 on-off and light switches seem to be easier to navigate. Thumbs up!!!

In a day of add on purchases this headlamp came with the batteries in the box which shocked me… headlamp is great and still charges after if fell 50 ft

Easy and Lightweight

I wear this for early morning runs. It is very comfortable and lightweight, easy to turn on/off and provides BROAD light for the road. It tilts smoothly so i can adjust on the go.

Powerful and bright!

This litterally lights up the whole trail and forest on my nightly hikes. Good range of light. Makes me feel safe about my surroundings in the woods when I'm alone!

I wanted to upgrade to a chargeable headlamp and this is perfect. Smaller and lighter than my older spot 400, even with batteries in it. Might take a little bit to get used to how it switches between brightness levels and red light if you aren't used to it, but it's more or less the same as previous spot, so intuitive for me.

Headlamp Flexibility

As a visually impaired person, over the last two years I have purchased four different headlamps of varying designs. The Spot 400, being the fifth, is the winner. Small enough to carry in a coat pocket to use when at appointments and needing lighting to sign documents, etc. With the addition of a AAA lithium ion charger package, it is available for all household chores. Nice compact design, comfortable headband with lighting options.
