Being the skinniest option in the Link series, the Link 90 comes in with a versatile 90mm waist that excels in mixed conditions and down techy lines. The profile, which consists of an early rise tip, traditional camber underfoot, and a flat tail, offers dependable edge hold when you need it, with an easy-to-turn feel whether you're linking turns down a gentle slope, or survival skiing down an sun-capped face. To keep the weight down, BD utilized a lightweight paulownia wood core with pre-preg fiberglass laminates, giving the ski a softer, more backcountry-focused flex. Unwilling to sacrifice durability or power, the Link is built with 8mm ABS sidewalls that effectively transfer power to the edges for a solid and stable feel. New to this season is Black Diamond's sidewall dampening system, which places a layer of rubber into the sidewall just in front of the boot in order to eliminate chatter and give the ski a damp feel when skiing in variable snow.
