Great Piece of Gear
I grabbed these as my first Gaiters and so far so good! They are easily packable and are great to bring with you to any outdoor excursions.

Offer a more durable strap!
Let me say, I love these gaiters, they are the perfect height and I would be giving them 5 stars, however, the flimsy strap underfoot wore through in less than 2 days (~30 miles). Black Diamond does not make a replacement strap. I tried to buy replacement straps from 3 other brands, only one came close to fitting, from OR in a hook/eye design, but it was still slightly loose and I ended up losing one of the straps the first time I wore it. Super frustrating and disappointing Black Diamond does not offer this with a durable strap or even sell any replacement straps!

Robust mid-calf gaiters
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Easy to put on and off. Reliable buckle, gaiters don't slide down. Rope is optional, and can be replaced. Great for scree and exposed glacier with crampons, not ideal for deep snow. For simple hiking below rock/ice zone, consider something lighter and cheaper. Size M nicely fits on leather boots US size 9.5 + not-so-wide calves.

BEST HIKING GAITER
These are the best hiking gaiters of any out there. Durable. Easy to put on. And don't need the strap under the boot to stay in place. The very top is a bit baggy but otherwise perfect. I would highly recommend.

Sizing is off
As other reviewers have stated recommend sizing is sketchy. Now I’m stuck eating 20% of the cost in return shipping. I won’t try another size when they made twice as much on this sale than their vendors. BS

LIghtweight and durable
I like these for outings where weight and bulk matter. Tough but compact, height probably not the best for lengthy postholing sessions, but the reinforced inside patch helps keep them up. I have not-large calves, wear size 10-10.5 boots. I'm glad I got the medium; I still cinch down the top strap quite a bit, and it seems like a large would not mate that well with my light mountain boots.
