The Black Diamond Bandit Avalung Pack does something that other yo-yo packs don't—it helps you breathe under the snow if you're caught in an avalanche. An intake box in the Bandit's shoulder strap pulls fresh air from the snow pack, while your exhaled CO2 gets directed away from your body through an exhaust port at the lower side of this Seth Morrison pro-model pack. Before each run, test the breathing tube on the Bandit to make sure the airway is clear.

- When you're trapped under the snow, the AvaLung extends your fresh-air supply from roughly 15 minutes to 58 minutes, which increases your odds of being dug out alive
