Big fan of BD products- no knocks on the quality of this jacket! I'm 5'11", 175lbs; pretty standard men's med base layers, large outerwear. Purchased Medium with trepidation after checking and rechecking the sizing guide. Shoulders, sleeves, and scale of upper torso fit pretty well. Definitely correctly sized for my upper body. Issues: Jacket is a bit long, dropping below hips and quite tight (for me) through hip/ thigh area. If you pull jacket down, it looks great, but it tends to ride up when you bend over or sit, and doesn't have the weight/ mass to fall back down; creating a weird puff-out in the middle of my chest area- you can see it even in some of the head on photos from BD. If you're tall and super thin, or rocking the beefy shoulders & no butt/ long-back (climbers maybe?) this jacket might work, but it didn't for me.

Fantastic Insulation and fit

Used many times from bravIng blizzards on the AT to Colorado skiing or just the morning drive. Carrying a backpack with waist straps? -No problem, The hi pockets allow easy access wile your pack stays secured. Very warm, UL and packable. long in the back and arms nice athletic cut. I’m 6”1 160

Incredibly Light and Warm

This jacket is very comfortable. I am 5'9 and I got a medium which fits perfectly. I love how light weight and packable this jacket is. Additionally, the pockets are super deep and can hold a lot. I have worn this jacket on some very cold Vermont days and have always stayed warm. The only downside is that the jacket does shed some down feathers. I have had some issues with the stitching too with loose threads on several parts of the jacket.

BD Down hoody

Great first time experience using this jacket in 20* temps during my mountain climb. Used it during breaks and could instantly feel the warmth being trapped. I love the look and packs up into its pocket. I would like to see an inside pocket in future designs for gloves but not a deal breaker for me. Hood is big enough for helmet and sinches down to fit head when not wearing one. Could be used as pillow if needed. Highly recommend!

Perfect winter jacket

Incredibly warm, light, and waterproof. I’ve used it outside on cold mornings in rain and snow and have had no issues in 20-30 F weather with only one or two lighter layers underneath. Easily packs down to be super small.

Best down jacket for the money

I love this jacket. It is the perfect weight for the colder months in North Texas. This was my go to piece for all all last winter and I have no complaints. I find its construction more refined and the fit more comfortable than Patagonia's or Mountain Hardware's competing options.

Great tapered fit

Alot of brands out there cater to the masses. BD continues to make great products that fit athletic individuals.

Warmest Piece I own

Excellent piece. If it’s not snowing or raining you can wear this jacket as a stand-alone. Incredibly warm
