When carbon is queen, the Alpine Carbon Cork Trekking Pole is your right (and left) hand man. In addition to the featherlite strength of carbon fiber, Black Diamond added a cork handle to absorb the impact of the tip against the trail, and a rubber extension below it so you can quickly shorten the amount of pole in use for sudden shifts in grade. Dual FlickLock Pro locks secure the pole in just the right length for you, and the poles collapse for easy packing when you want your hands free to scramble.

Love them!
I only wish they could be a bit lighter, but still love them

Fantastic
Love the color and that they are light. The most important for me is the weight and comfort of the handle. The handle feels good but will not know until I put it to the test hiking this summer. Will update.

sturdy, but light weight
when my almost two year old trekking does broke this winter, i replaced them with this pair..i was so happy that BD had a 2 year warranty! i love the color a lot, and the flip lock system works great so far. they are heading to Patagonia with me this week, so i am sure that they will be prefect for hikes and walks.

Easy to use
The flip locks are easy to engage and release by someone with weak hands but lock solidly. Hiking in New England means not gravel paths but either rocks or overgrown knee high grass or brush. The smaller baskets do not hang up in either terrain. These are solid reassuring poles.

Great poles for great hiking!
They definitely took a bit of tweaking to get to the correct length, but after that, they’ve been perfect! I appreciate the cork handle and how it doesn’t retain moisture, nor does it retain scent. They easily pack away and are so versatile!

Solid pole
Solid pole/light weight. I found that the adjustment clasps could get get caught on brush and release sections of the pole and the tip and basket were so small they frequently got caught in mud and cracks.

Just came off a 5 day hike on the desolation trail, and these were awesome!!! Definitely would recommend, especially if the trail might be a little bit of a challenge.

I really love these poles! They're a life-saver going downhill on steep slopes, really saved my grandma knees on multiple hikes! There's really too many pros to list and I would highly recommend them- my only two 'cons'/considerations that you might want to know about prior to buying is that the collapsed length is still pretty large (but I prefer the locking system, so I'm okay with the length. If you want something that packs down smaller, you might want to look at a different model) and then it takes a bit of finagling to adjust it to the perfect length- but again, it's not to big of a deal- just things to consider!
