We keep our hands free while bushwhacking to hard-to-reach fishing holes with the Backcountry X Simms Flyweight Z Sling Pack. This pack keeps our net, lures, and tools organized so that we can stay focused on hooking lunkers. Our favorite feature is the TRU®️ Zip self-healing zipper which creates a watertight seal to keep the bag’s contents bone-dry even if submersed in water for up to a half-hour.

Minimal and cool
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I have not used it in the field yet but wanted to provide first impressions. Likes: The look Feels very solid The zipper is unique and seems waterproof, we will see Slinging it under the arm to access zipper and main compartment is easy Unexpected: Feels small for 15L, will probably fit a jacket, but might be hard to pack a couple of layers, lunch, coffee, and water bottle and still be able to use it to get flies out Very little organization, which is fine if you like to change up your kit frequently like I do Kind of crinkly and plastic feeling so I'm not sure how I will like that Overall: I like knowing that a rain or a quick dunk will not soak all of my stuff, especially if I pack a fleece or something dry to put on. I love the versatility of a sling over a hip bag or chest pack. I think it will be flexible enough most outings fly fishing and might also be a handy day pack for traveling when the forecast calls for rain. With very few pockets it will only take a minute to unload fishing gear and load it up with stuff for the day.

Best Sling Bag
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I?ve only been fly fishing for a short time but tried a few different ways to hold gear and this is by far the most comfortable! Stays put even while wading waist deep and being waterproof is amazing too!

Waterproof Security
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This Sling is a perfect upgrade from my previous Simms sling pack. The 15L volume is great for carrying all the essentials including and extra layer, spool, gloves and beer. The fully waterproof construction allows you to carry your keys and phone with confidence. Interior pockets keep everything organized and easy to find.
