Why We Built The Backcountry Wolverine Cirque 3/4 Insulated Pant

When the wind is whipping and temperatures are plummeting, we still head up to the resort after pulling on the Wolverine Cirque 3/4 Insulated Pant. We created these pants with flexible and lofty insulation to trap heat under our shells without weighing us down. Additionally, a thoughtful shorter length doesn't interfere with the fit of our boots so that we can perform our best.

Waist too high for my comfort

I wanted to love these so bad, but the waist was too high for my comfort. I started with a small, which felt too tight in the waist and then ordered a medium, and I still thought it sat uncomfortably high. I'm going to try the men's version next to see if the waist sits lower.

Great for under shells or ski pants

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

These are perfect for ski days! They cutoff at the right spot so they don't have to squeeze into my boots and keep me warm through the day. Great amount of warmth, not too much, not too little.

Exactly what I needed for a ski trip into colder weather than my normal PNW locale. I layered these under my Flylow Moxie bibs and was plenty warm. I added my smart wool merino knickers as a first layer for even more warmth. Yes the waistband on these is pretty fitted so consider the size chart. I am 5’3, 108 lbs, narrow at the waist, and the XS is perfect.

I agree with one reviewer who says the waist band is too stiff. She blamed her age/weight, but at 5'0'' 100lbs, I still felt the waist band was waaaaay too tight/uncomfortable. HOWEVER, there are two elastics in the waist band and it just requires a deep breath and two cuts with scissors to take the thicker band out and make the pants absolutely perfect. No need to have any sewing skills, just balls to cut into a brand new (kind of expensive) garment. In terms of everything else... insulation, material, fit, I love these pants. Very happy I picked them up

Great for under your snow pants. I am 5’4, 125, wearing a size small. Fit perfectly. They do sit high on the waist but the length is perfect and do not impede with your ski boot. Very warm in cold conditions and extra vents make it not too hot when it’s warm out. I have already recommended these to a few friends.

The BC insulated 3/4 pants are great. They fit great, are warm, super comfortable and have washed well. I wear them to walk, ski, and snowshoe when I need more than a base layer. I like them enough that I bought a second pair.

These are high waisted and feel like a cloud. Perfect for an extra mid layer under a shell pant/bib on days below 20 degrees. The medium fit well on my athletic figure, were I normally have to size up to a large in snow pants to accommodate strapping onto my board.

As a under layer, the waist band is so stiff. This would be great for me when I was younger and was leaner..... but now the waist band is so stiff and uncomfortable, it cuts into my waist. Why can't they use a thinner waist band material that is more forgiving?
