I could live in these for ever.

Love doesn't begin to describe how much I love these. They are thick and warm and durable. They have pilled on the endless area due to sock rubbing and being under other pants. Worn these winder camping and they kept me plenty warm. I can get an extra layer of long underwear underneath which is a bonus. Hope they bring these back again.

I love these leggings. They are cute and cozy, best of both worlds. They have the fleece lining but don?t get too hot (though I do run cold). I wear them to be cozy around the house as well and hiking and even a base layer for skiing. After several uses I did notice one small patch of pilling on one of the hips, but it is a mystery how because there are no issues anywhere else after many uses and that pilling has not gotten worse. The last thing is after a long day, the seams may leave the slightly itchy red marks from the pressure. However it?s not a big issue and I continue to wear and love these leggings!

Excellent Everyday Winter Leggings

Familiarity:

Size Bought:
XS

These are truly the ultimate cold-weather leggings. I intended to use them as a baselayer for snowboarding, but they are so cozy on their own that they have become by go-to bottoms for winter hikes and walks! My only regret with these leggings is the size that I ordered. Checking the size chart, I should have ordered a S, but I thought since leggings are often pretty stretchy that I would size down to an XS. My instincts were wrong on that one! I highly recommend following the sizing chart! The leggings to have enough stretch that the smaller size still works for me, but the next pair I order will definitely be the next size up. The pockets on these leggings are pockets are a dream come true. Not only are they actually deep and stretchy enough to hold personal items (honestly, please put more pockets like these in feminine clothing!), they're fleece lined to I can stick my hands in to warm them up quickly when it's extra chilly outside. For such a thick legging, they are incredibly flattering. I find that a lot of lined leggings will make the wearer look bulky, but these hug every curve in a very obvious way, which could be a pro or a con depending on your preference! Overall, this is a product I would 100% purchase again, and very well intend to once my size is available again!

great leggings for winter wear

Familiarity:

XXS

I'd been looking for flattering fleecelined leggings that could be worn as outerwear (e.g., not just a base layer). they only had the XXS left in stock so I took a chance on the fit. (I'm usually a 00, 5'2", 103lbs). Wore them for snowshoeing on a windy, snowy 30 degree day, couldn't have been more comfortable. And what a bonus to have pockets on the side! the only caution I would add is that your backside will be VERY well defined, as in, nothing left to the imagination. So if that bothers you, wear it with a jacket that covers your hips.

The Perfect Fall/Winter Leggings

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
L

These are seriously the best winter leggings ever. I bought them mainly for winter hiking and they?re so thick that they?ve kept me warm enough in 20-30 degree weather that I haven?t needed another layer at all yet. They?re also not too tight so if temperatures drop lower I can easily fit another thin baselayer underneath if needed. I wore them during a snowstorm and they barely seemed wet at all and my legs stayed completely dry and warm. I also wore them for hikes in the fall in 40-50 degree weather and they weren?t too warm. So comfortable and cozy. I?m 5?2? and 150 lbs and the L fits well. Love that there?s a drawstring too as I tend to have to hike my leggings up occasionally as they slide below my not-flat belly. The pockets are the perfect size for a phone or whatever small things you don?t want to have to constantly dig out of your pack. You absolutely need these if you want to get outside in cold weather and be comfortable and not too bulky.

SO Warm!!!

I could not say enough good things about these tights. I got them in a Medium in both the olive green and the blue, and they fit perfect. When I first pulled them out of the bag I thought they might be uncomfortable or too thick, but they are just heavy enough to fight the cold incredibly well, but still light and form fitting enough to feel like normal leggings. The side pockets are probably my favorite part- they are deep enough to fit my phone easily, and the pockets have the fleece lining as well to keep your hands warm. I wish I'd jumped on the black ones when we still had my size because they are seriously amazing- if you're looking for a crazy comfy but hella warm winter performance tight, these are the ones for you!!

Best winter leggings ever!

After ordering and returning 3 different brands of winter leggings I hit the jackpot with these! Well worth the investment, they are warm and fleecy. I've worn them in a range of temps and humidity, including a winter drizzle that snuck up on us. Like another reviewer stated, the thickness prevented rain from soaking through (these are NOT rain pants--just to be clear). I also wore them under a wind layer for a more exposed hike. They're just perfect for what I need--an ultra warm base layer for harsh, exposed winter hikes AND a great single layer for cold weather runs, walks and hikes in milder conditions. I'm sometimes S and sometimes M--I got the M just because they were in stock. They fit great. Not skin tight. Super comfy and they don't ride up or slip down. Just perfect! I love these so much that I just ordered a 2nd pair. I hope they will restock them so I can get the black ones!

This was my first purchase with Back country, so I didn't know what to expect. I orders these for cold weather cycling, and never quite sure about size from one brand to another. I ordered this in Large because I wanted to be able to add another layer under if necessary (I'm usually about at a size 10). Used them for the first time yesterday, and what a comfortable fit, not to mention they kept me nice and warm.

Best winter tights I own

Familiarity:

I've been wanting these for a couple years, I finally got a pair the other day as a gift. I've been buying size small leggings for awhile but recently realized I'm probably a size xs, which is the size I got in these (hips 35" waist 28"). These fit me great, skin-tight as leggings ought to be but not too tight anywhere on me. There is a tiny tiny bit of extra fabric in the crotch, which I think is due to how thick the material is - these are not the skin-tight of a lulu legging, the fabric is just too thick and fleecy for that. The waistband is wide and compressive and the pockets are a great size for my hands and iphone 8. These might be a bit thicker and more structured than you want for lounging around the house (or they might not... I just prefer ultra comfort like sweatpants when I'm at home!), but I took these on a rough hike the other day and they performed great. It was only five or so miles but it was extremely humid - pouring sleet/rain at about 30F. The trail was pure ice and my yaktrax are semi-broken so I unfortunately fell a couple times. It took about 2 hours for the rain to really soak all the way through these because of how thick they are, and about 2-3 hours for them to dry out as I wore them around/in the car afterwards. They took no damage from my icy falls and kept me ultra warm until they were thoroughly drenched, if you're being active in these and the wind isn't insane, I figure these will keep me warm down into the single digits. The fabric itself is slightly different than I expected but I love it. The inside is fleecy and soft and the outside is a more slippery structured material. I wish I had a picture of me wearing them on the hike because I think they look great, but it was too wet and icky for pictures. My other best pair of fleece winter tights is from lululemon and these by far outperform those, and my lulu's were 50$ more. I'll update or write another review if these don't hold up well, but right now I think they are DEFINITELY worth the money. Buy a pair and be cozy.

New Waistband

Size Bought:
Sm

I bought these previously in Feb 2020 - the new waistband is quite different so the fit was unexpected as the Small I bought previously fits perfect. Nothing wrong with having a more formal waistband - I just found it far too restrictive & uncomfortable for my choice so I will have to return and size up.
