Why We Built The Backcountry Last Chair Stretch Insulated Bib

We designed our Backcountry Last Chair Stretch Insulated Bib for fresh powder days when we refuse to leave the resort until every stash is tracked out. We sourced recycled materials to lower the environmental impact in production and added stretch to increase our freedom on the hill. Packed with a synthetic fill and protected with a breathable laminate, this pant keeps our legs primed on winter's coldest, stormiest mornings, while the mesh-lined thigh vents let us turn up the air on bootpacks and bluebird days.

My go-to bib!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Small

Bought this bib a couple of months ago, have worn it a few times now, and I've loved it so far! Stretchy, very comfortable, and flattering. I purchased a size Small (my usual size) and it fit just right, with room for base layers underneath. I haven't had any issues with the quality as some of the other reviews have mentioned, but can't speak to its longevity since it's still relatively new. Overall though, would definitely recommend!!

Crazy comfy bibs

I've sold so many Last Chair pants and bibs to customers who love them that I decided to give them a try myself. I love so many of our outerwear pieces and these are definitely ones I can add to the list. They are super soft, stretchy, breathable and comfortable. They are very versatile by having medium-weight insulation that is perfect most days on the slopes. If you layer well underneath it, you can stay warm in very cold conditions, as well. The upper bib piece provides extra warmth and protection from deep snow than pants. The breathable fabric and thigh vents dump heat when working hard on the slopes or in warmer conditions. The 15K waterproofing kept me dry in a snowstorm when I wore them. These are on the long side for me at 5'4", so these bibs with adjustable length worked out better for me. I loved wearing these and recommend them.

Awesome Snow Bib

Familiarity:

The perfect snow bib! I stayed warm & dry skiing in 10 degree weather in Montana. I did wear a base layer & midlayer one. Was a little snug with the base layer but still was able to move freely. I’m 145 and have a curvy shape and I bought a size medium. I’m 5’4 and the length was perfect The waist does has velcro to make it looser or tight. It does have a pocket in the front too that fit my iPhone, lipstick and credit card. The bottoms covered my shoe boot perfectly. I got the brown color so it would go with anything. Highly recommend!

Not warm enough

These are barely insulated. If you plan to use them when it’s under 30° I recommend buying something else. They also run very long. I’m 5’3” and have to roll them up significantly. I don’t love the lack of pockets either.

Absolutely terrible customer service

I bought some snow pants for my wife and they sent me the wrong size and when I called to talk to customer service to get the correct size they were nothing but rude and nasty. They then tried to charge my card again after telling me I only had 5 days to send the item back or they wouldn’t exchange it.

This is on the softer end of bibs I have tried and I love it. They are soft to touch and comfy to wear, but still completely waterproof as far as I can tell from snowboarding in it. You can tighten the waist if you'd like which I personally really like. I have the whole set and love it!

I wanted to like these…but

I did want to like these but too many weird things. Biggest bug was the Velcro waist. It just seems so weird to me to cinch the waist of bibs. I ordered a large, which I normally am because I like things longer more than fitted. The top of the bibs were big and there was a gap but I didn’t mind that because they are bibs and I wanted them to be able to fit a layer. Thighs weren’t too tight and length was good. Next is the pockets…please always give us 2 pockets on our thighs or waist. The chest pocket was small and vertical because of the front closure which needs more velcro than one strip at the top to keep it closed or just make the zippers on the thighs so we don’t have to take the bibs off to pee. Lastly, the material does not feel burly enough. It’s very thin and seems like it would rip easily and I am hard on ski clothes so that was concerning. The positive is that they seemed like they would be warm and loved that they had primaloft. I did return them. I feel backcountry is trying to mix function with fashion and it's just not for me.

Based on the measurements I ordered an L but needed to size down to a M which was a bummer bc when I went to exchange the size the Black Friday pricing was no longer available so I had to pay more. Boo customer service. Performance wise I’ve worn these twice so far this season and have no complaints. They’re super warm and cozy, the fabric is buttery soft, the stretch is great for mobility and the Velcro at the waist gives them a very flattering look. I did not have any issues with manufacturing and product quality like the other reviewer so maybe they got a lemon or do more fancy tricks than me 😜. My only ask is that there are no front hip pockets like on regular pants…why not? I don’t know. But literally every time I look to put my chapstick or gloves or pass in a pocket I slide my hands for the normal hip pocket to find there aren’t any. They do have nice cargo pockets and a convenient breast pocket but no hip pockets. Dear manufacturers women want pockets. Full stop.

Was so excited to take these on the slopes, unfortunately I was severely disappointed in the performance. They look awesome and feel comfy but ripped the lining after one run down the slopes and was not water resistant to stand up against a more wet snow. Would not recommend.
