Didn't like it.
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it

- XXL
The quality of the material was good, and so was the fit. However, I didn't like the design of the zip off upper section. Even when zipped close there was a small hole the remains where the zipper ends meet. I could see a scenario where snow could leak in. It's not ideal.

To Baggy. Would be perfect if slimmer.

Bomber. Have had them for years now, and have zero complaints aside from an over baggy fit that is perhaps cool in snowboarder circles… not as much for a skier.

Great fit

Most ski gear has a "climber fit". Backcountry Cottonwoods fit perfectly in size and length. The removable bib is great because I prefer pants. The gore tex material keeps me dry during the storms. I'm 5' 09", 205 lbs and the Medium pant fit me perfectly. Highly recommended.

Love the pockets! Durable and the ability to unzip and take off the top half is convenient!

Well constructed but falls short a bit

Very impressed with the construction. Falls short in two areas but take my criticisms with a grain of salt. 1- the powder cuffs are way too loose. XXL bibs. They over estimated the scale on those. 2- the chest zipper closure is challenging any time other than when warm and full dexterity. Add a hold down on the male side of the zipper. I will end up sewing my own tab (3/4” x 1” webbing) to assist with the upper zipper closure.

Good but not tough enough
- Familiarity:

I like these bibs the mesh pocket is good for holding gloves or hats. I like having a belt and the pockets have a clip in them for my keys. Downside is these have maybe 15 days on them and they already have a tear. Riding Northern VT I bushwhack, and these already have a duct tape patch. I recommend you make from the knee down thicker, material or all boot guard material, something so that if you are riding through some thick bushwhacking these don't tear.

They run a little big. The model in the picture must have been chunky on the hips. I'm six foot one. One hundred and seventypounds and ten percent body fat. It's a medium all day boys. I bought large thinking I would layerbut it's really quite insulating.

Bib section does not stay zipped - super annoying. I have tried emailing about the issue twice and have not received a response back in over 3 months. Not sure what is going on with backcountry’s customer service.

Bibs for the hardcore

These are TOUGH. They got recommended to me on the chair last season and I finally committed. Although I have and will not wear them as just pants, one could but you would need a belt. I went hard in these all day, from open to apres and I was comfy and dry the whole time. The pocket storage at the chest and knees is very accessible and doesn't restrict movement or bang against you when full. I am a M in all bottoms and these fit as they should. I took several spectacular wipeouts and these held up, didn't rip or get cut at all. The ankle gaiters work well, I thought they might be too loose but fit great. The adjustable parts are all in the right places and really let you customize your fit. Can't recommend them enough!
