Why We Like The Astral Loyak Water Shoe
The Astral Loyak Water Shoe provides the right mix of grip, flexibility, and durability we need when guiding raft trips or kayaking technical rivers. The stitched Cordura upper is highly abrasion-resistant for durability, yet also breathable and quick-drying. The upper is also attached directly to the rubber outsole for a low-profile fit and enhanced feel underfoot. G.15 rubber helps us maintain our footing on slippery river beds and slick rocks, and flex grooves allow our foot to flex naturally.

Good but could be wider
Good shoes but they are not wide enough IMO especially my large size 14. Better than the average sneaker but still had to remove laces. Wish the laces were a bit stretchy

cannot be worn barefoot or anywhere near sand
barefoot shoes that should not be worn barefoot. scratched the heck out of my toes when I wore without socks. also stay away from any sand or rocks. i love the look and drain-ability but they cannot be worn without socks unless you want open sores.

Perfect for Water Hiking
Love the barefoot feel! Almost like walkinh on nothing! Great grip, even on slippery surfaces - I'm not even a boater! I wear them hiking in the desert. They're perfect for creek shoes! Yes, we have creeks and rivers in AZ!

I'm looking for a good wet wader that will hold up while I'm fishing streams. Are these tough enough to handle hours in rocky bottomed water? How well do they keep gravel out, it gets old taking does of to dump rocks at every gravel bar.
