I love my Altra shoes.
I typically buy the Provision brand for my daily 3 Mile walks. And the Lone Peak for every day wear. They never disappoint. I have been buying Altra Shoes for at least 8 years. They are the only running shoes I buy!

Changes in design I don't like
I've purchased several pairs of Lone Peak waterproof shoes through the years and I liked them very much, even if they broke down too quickly. These new ones have strangely long, round laces that seem comic. The shoe hits higher on the inside of my ankle, so now I'm trying to make them fit with inserts, which I did not have to do with my other Altras. I think they have more padding, which might not be a terrible thing, but they don't have the same feel as I walk. My other Altras had a certain sound when I walked in them and it's missing from these (a very esoteric point, I admit). I'm not sure if I will keep them. I'd like to find some older versions on line if possible because I do like to have some level of waterproofing for my hiking shoes.

Poor quantity
These shoes are not solid. The gore tex rip after less then 200km. 2 months after I bought them, they rip at the top near the big toe patch. So it's not waterproof anymore.

Okay, Not Great Like My Others
There is something about where the tongue is sewn to the side of the shoe that is bothersome. It's too thick and pushes into the top of the foot. I debated about returning them but thought I would see if the shoe would feel better over time. It's okay now, but not great. The shoes are also quite heavy and bulky. I wasn't expecting that. I have loved all of my other Altras, but I would not buy these again for myself. They might be fine for others.

Love all of my Altras!
I have 3 different styles of Altra shoes and I love them all! I have the Lone Peak All-Weather which keep my feet warm and dry in the winter. I have two pair of the Lone Peaks for warmer weather, one pair for walking and one pair in the white and light green for golfing. I also have the Escalante and the Rivera that I use for casual wear and shorter walks. I wear a 71/2 and that is the size I buy in Altra shoes, I have had plantar fasciitis which is now gone and Morton's neuroma which is controlled because I wear Altra shoes(with PowerStep inserts). My only wish would be that Altra made winter snow boots and shoes other that sneakers!

Ripping in less than a year
Loved these shoes but they started ripping by the toe after 6 months of use. This is very disappointing for a shoe that is so incredibly expensive. Otherwise they are a great trail runner.

Love my Altra Lone Peaks!
I walked the Camino in Spain and Portugal in my Altra Lone Peaks in october of 2022. Love them!! I have "bad" feet. My Lone Peaks allowed me to walk the 125 miles with never a problem. I walk alot and probably now have 300 miles in all kinds of terrain. I have purchased my second pair to have on standby . Highly recommended!

holes in top of shoe after 8 months/worn about 20 times
I was so excited about this hiking shoe. It is actually wide and has almost enough support in toe box. However after 8 months I now have holes where the netting broke on top of the shoe on both feet at the toe box. Too expensive to be not functional after 8 months and only about 20 times worn ( for walks no more that a few miles at a time).

Not waterproof from the beginning
I wear these in the winter but they don't keep me feet dry in wet snow let alone puddles. Traction in snow is very good.
