230 miles in and loving these shoes. They are light and grippy and provide enough cushion for long run comfort while feeling well connected to the ground. My terrain is dirt, gravel and rocky trails in the foothills around Boulder. These shoes can handle all of it. So far the upper is holding up well. I would recommend these to anyone who wants a comfy wide toe box, a neutral support zero drop shoe with a stack height that still allows you to feel the ground for feedback.

Great shoes!!
Love the fit of Altta shoes. My feet have never been happier! These shoes are very light, the soles have super grip and provide good stability and protection on stony surfaces. Highly recommend!

I was surprised that after 230 miles I had no blisters!
I wore these shoes every day for 27 days. There was some wear and tear on the front edges and sides of the shoes because of the boulders, rocks, tree roots, rivers, lakes and streams. And I wondered. Will they hold up? Well, they did! I was surprised and excited that they could handle the John Muir Trail!!

Great for backpacking right out of the box
I just finished my second backpacking trip with the Lone Peak 8.0. it was a 64 mile, 6 day trip which included Mt Whitney summit. you've heard this before but the wide toe box makes these shoes unbeatable for comfort. they also are good to go right out of the box without any break in time. I've been using the Lone Peaks for years and this model seems a little more durable in the toe and the mesh. This year the tan color scheme was really cool looking. The sole is very grippy on rock but on downhill gravel I had to be careful because the heel sometimes would slide out

The Altra paradox -- the zero drop pros and cons
I need to add CURREX SupportSTP insoles AND ProFoot heel inserts, and then these shoes are pretty perfect. (I find the zero-drop angle too harsh on my heel and ankle).

Disappointed with new loan park 8's
So sad with the new 8's, Loved all the earlier versions of these, but with the new loan peak 8's I can't keep my heal in the shoe. No matter how tight I tie them, even with heal lock I still feel heal slip bad enough for blisters.

Best shoes
Favorite shoes I've ever had and have owned 3 pairs. Just wish they would make a lone peak road or gym shoe!

i would buy the product again if it was sold 1/2 size smalle
The shoes are too big which is perplexing because i ordered the same shoe last year and those fit me perfectly . regretfully, i'm returning this order

A little disappointed.
I'm a little disappointed. I loved the 6's so much and the 8's just don't feel the same. I wish you would bring them back. I'd continue buying the 6's but not sure I'll keep buying new models

Excellent
Wanted to say I'm very happy with these (so far). I've been using Lone Peaks since 2.5; last time I needed a new pair of trail shoes there were none anywhere in my size, so I opted for a Mont Blanc - and ended up leaving a seriously negative review - so now you deserve a good one! The 8 seems to be an improvement over the last few generations - I was going through the uppers before wearing out the shoe, and this material seems much more resilient. Also the fit is better - the last few generations were quite tight right over the ball, probably because the laces began right there and that structure reduced flexibility; you've moved them back a little bit compared to a Lone Peak 6 and that really helps (and the Mont Blanc was WAY worse for this, the laces begin 1.5 inches closer to the toes). Really nice job on these, love having the comfy fit back.
