Why We Like The adidas TERREX Utilitas Hiking Zip Off Pant

The ever-versatile adidas TERREX Utilitas Hiking Zip Off Pant is the ultimate solution for comfort on the trail. Conditions can change quickly in the outdoors, so when things heat up, we zip off the lower legs and enjoy the summer breeze. Ankle zippers allow us to remove the legs neatly and easily without having to take off our boots. The stretch woven fabric not only gives us full freedom of movement on the trail, but does so in eco-friendly fashion thanks to its use of recycled materials, while a DWR finish sheds any light precipitation that comes our way.

The pants are durable and the zippers function and stow well. However these pants run large, I am a 29" waist and usually always TTS Medium in any brand, however with these I use up the entire belt and could still do with more fabric to further tighten them. Because of this they look baggy as well. I would size down if you are right on the edge of a size difference.

Who would have thought that zip-off pants could look so cute? I once would never be caught in zip-off pants, but I have to say I am obsessed with these. I wore them for 8 days straight while backpacking the Wonderland Trail around Mt. Rainier and they were perfect. So nice to be able to easily switch between shorts and pants during a long trip! The zips on the ankles also make it so easy to take one and off over your hiking shoes! Fit was great, maybe a little loose for my usual size but I didn't mind the extra room.

Nice trousers with little points of criticism

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lightweight, easy zipper, looking great. I'm a girl with feminine hips so I had to upsize two sizes. Long Version fits me better (1,78 m). Three points of criticism: - Beige Version isn't squat-proof - I'm missing a smartphone-pocket on the leg, the ones on the hips aren't ideal for a bulky phone - The Belt isn't going around the trousers, it's attached to the sides. So if you need to tight it up, it creates creases on the front. Haven't tested it in the wild yet but looking forward to it.

Perfect for rainy days

Water and wind repellent, perfect 2-in-1 pant for whatever weather nature wants to throw at you. I’m 5’1, 120lbs and the medium was the good slightly baggy fit that I wanted with extra thigh leg room, without being too long length-wise. 10/10 would recommend!

A great but for me

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these for Patagonia - I was looking for lightweight water resistant comfortable trousers with which I could wear thermal leggings. I haven’t not yet had the opportunity to try them effectively for their intended purpose (I am only going away in a couple of weeks), but they have meet all expectations so far and look great.

Perfect for hiking and biking in different weather conditions. Light, comfortable. Good stretch material. All in one. This what I want.

These are the best.

I spent over a month researching various brands of hiking pants. I landed on the black pair of these and I’m not sure what would make a better convertible pant. The fit is literally perfect, fits at the small part of waist, plenty of leg room, light and airy for rigorous hikes, and no bulky pockets that I would not use anyway. This is the one pair of pants I bring backpacking, and they fit great over a base layer for windy/colder evenings. I truly hope Adidas keeps making these, and in other colors!
