Why We Like The MK3 Cargo Bib Short

No matter if we're pushing ourselves on a century ride or taking it easy on a multi-day adventure, the MK3 Cargo Bib Short keeps us comfortable so we can keep on keeping on to see what's over that next ridgeline. Two side hip pockets are large enough for our smartphone or a package of gummy sharks, and two rear pockets stash headphones or gels as needed. Couldn't love em

I really like 7Mesh jackets and MTB gear, so I was hopeful for these. I tried them on only, did not ride in them. Fit was very good, a nice supportive feel and neither too loose nor too tight (I followed the fit chart). However, two things turned me off: First, the fabric is quite burly and somewhat rough, compared to any other bib I've tried. It's probably durable and tough and all that, but it definitely doesn't have a smooth next-to-skin feel that I generally prefer; it's almost scratchy. Second, the chamois is actually attached to a separate piece of material that runs from belt line to belt line front-to-back, like a mesh loin cloth. This is honestly pretty odd, and not something I've ever seen in a high-end bib. It helps the whole rough fabric issue mentioned above, but it means there's extra material to bunch and prevent ventilation. Overall these seem like bibs designed by mountain bikers, and if you want something very burly and multi-layered maybe they're for you. I generally prefer bibs to fit like a second skin with minimal seams and material, and these definitely don't do that.
