Much more comfortable than Patagonia equivalent
I ordered this pack and the Patagonia Black Hole MCL 45L. This pack was way more comfortable for me (athletic build, 5'11" female) and I loved how the pockets were separated in comparison to the Patagonia pack. I can't wait to use this for international and domestic travel!

travel pack
I have used this pack one time so far, and I absolutely love it. it is super functional, I can fit quite a few outfits in. A huge plus is that it has a separate laptop compartment. Also, on one of my flights, there was no space in overhead bin, but this pack fit under the seat!

Good backpack but not perfect
Attractive design. Shoulder straps are great. Waste belt is a plus. Good amount of pockets and organization compartment. However, not sure if I’d keep it or not yet because it’s missing the most important feature for my needs. It doesn’t have a luggage-pass through for roller bag handle. Especially for the size of 42l, i want to be able to stack it on top of my roller bag when I want to rest my back and shoulders. I’m trying to think if i could find something to sew it into the back of Allpa but not sure how successful it’ll be. I’ve purchased other backpacks for my upcoming trip to find the best ones for my needs- peak design travel backpack 45, Thule aion 40, Patagonia mcl 45. All of these bags have luggage-pass through slips and Cotopaxi Allpa doesn’t. There’s an access amount of materials of the front shell that makes the bag look like it would holds more than it actually does. I’d have to give it a more thought and play around little bit to decide.

Great organization!
I love how the different compartments on this backpack are organized. I also love the little security things for the zippers. There are handles on both ends and both sides of the backpack which is great as well! I also love the laptop pocket. Can’t wait to take this on trips!

Laptop not in it's own pocket
This would be a great pack if the laptop pocket was it's true own pouch... unfortunately there is only mesh between the main compartment and the laptop. Poor design.

First Cotopaxi ◡̈
I bought this pack because I'm moving across the world and needed a backpack that was durable, large, and wasn't ugly haha! This definitely delivered. I love all the different compartments and pockets everywhere. They truly left nothing out! I love the clamshell opening that makes packing with packing cubes and for long trips much less intimidating and more organized! The pocket on the top is a perfect spot for cards, headphones, and my passport as well - just those things you need concealed but easily accessible. I love the laptop sleeve with the extra pockets for the chargers in a padded zipper on the back. The pocket for the laptop didn't fit my laptop but it would easily fit an ipad or something similar, but the zipper pocket itself is so padded I feel comfortable with my laptop in it outside of the pouch inside. I love the handles on all sides that make it so easy to travel and pull out of overhead bins on planes. I had never used a straps system for a backpack before because I just never needed one, but this bag is large and can be quite heavy when packed full so when I first tried them I really loved them! I had to adjust them for my height but once I did that I really found them quite helpful! Overall, I am very impressed with this bag!
