I actually tried multiple different 3 in 1 jackets before settling on this one. I tried both the Helly Hansen Swift and the North Face Thermoball, and this 686 totally exceeds both of those in quality, apparent durability, and just general form. The 686 snaps into place at the wrists and has a much more impressive mid layer jacket. The Helly Hansen and North Face were made with a thin outer layer fabric that felt like it would rip if I brushed up against a tree; the 686 shell is thick and even feels more waterproof. 686 for the win! Only slightly negative comment is that the 686 is just a little larger than expected, would not consider it a slim fit.

Zipper Broke on the Shell the Third Time

The zipper broke on the shell the third time I put it on. I liked the jacket so I'm pretty disappointed. I will return it
