Your young adventurer hasn't quite learned the art of pacing yet, and spends the first hour of the hike running ahead to check things out. Send them on in the CamelBak Kids' Scout 14L Backpack, and rest assured that they'll have their water, jacket, and snack while they wait for your old bones to catch up. Later, when they're dragging their heels because they used up all of their energy, they'll appreciate having the hose right where they need it, and the light weight of the pack that won't hold them back. To make this pack even more kid-friendly, Camelbak added a daisy chain to the face of the pack, for easy attachment of their favorite stuffy and other technical gear they'll need on the trail.

Well constructed pack. Smallish, 10
Well constructed pack. Smallish, 10 year old daughter likes the fit, functionality, color and style. Easily carries her 10 essentials and whatever food, water, and layers she needs. I did add some shock cord to the webbing on the pack for when she sheds her jacket. Highly recommend.

Nice
Nice backpack, but please notice that both colors have been called “girly” by boys of my acquaintance. Please make a “boy” color. Red? Forest green?

Love!
My kids (7 and 10) LOVED having these on some pretty intense hikes through Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks this summer. They were the perfect size for stashing their top layer when they got too warm, and they stayed more hydrated than when we would carry their water bottles in our bags. WIN!

Great for hiking
Bought this hydration pack for my 9 year old son. He outgrew his kids camelbak and upgraded to this larger size giving him more room for snacks to take on our hike!

Love them
I got these for my boys (5 and 7) to use on hikes, when bike riding, and for an upcoming family vacation. One of the main things I wanted was a water backpack that also had room for their stuff on vacation and this very much has fit the bill. Backpacks can fit snacks and a raincoat and their device and is pretty lightweight. Locking an unlocking the spout is easy and doesn’t require help from us.

Tastes like plastic
My 7yr old kiddo was begging for one of these since she saw a friend with one. You want a backpack to hold your own stuff and drink more water? Heck yeah! So excited to use it we checked the porch for the Camelbak package daily. Washed it before first use, filled it up, and off it went only to return pretty full still and with added complaints of bad taste. Thought maybe I hadn't cleaned it well enough and went to town with warm soapy water (no instructions on how to clean or dry this thing). Filled her up and off it went again only to return with even less water missing and a more specific complaint of bad plastic after taste. "Mom, it's like eating a melted plastic straw that we don't use anymore because they kill whales. This is going to kill me like that." After another thorough wash, I had a drink of water from her Camelbak. She is right - that strong plastic aftertaste is enough to make me understand how whales feel swimming in plastic straws. It's not usable and does not seem healthy to use. The backpack works fine for a small day pack, and is even lighter without the water to carry.

Great backpack for kids!
This pack is perfect for our 4 year old. She feels like a big girl and has hoer own water. Pack is big enough for her to carry her own snacks too and feels like high quality. She hiked almost 5 miles through Capitol Reef National Park carrying almost the entire way (she is only 4) but I am extremely pleased with this pack.

Good for little little guys and room to grow
My kids, 7 and 4 have one. Plenty of space for snacks and anything needed for their adventures. We live in and explore the dry, hot high deserts of New Mexico, Utah and Colorado. The kids have carried these for many miles with no complaints.

My son loved it.
My wife, myself, the 4 year old boy took it out on a hike today. He wore it the whole time, never complained. If anything he took longer because he wanted to use the whistle and take more drinks from the spout. Super easy for him to use and we didnt have to carry his snacks or water!
