Why We Like The Yeti SB120 T1 GX/X01 Eagle Mountain Bike
Blurring the lines between a trail bike and cross-country bike, the SB120 T1 GX/X01 Eagle Mountain Bike is one of our top picks for racking up singletrack miles. With 120mm of Switch Infinity rear travel, this bike has the capabilities to handle demanding descents, with tons of support for an efficient feel over long-distance rides. Yeti's revised Switch Infinity linkage is strengthened throughout for a solid feel on the trail, plus it's easier to maintain. The SB120 rolls on 29in wheels for their ability to maneuver rock steps and off-camber rock rolls, plus they hold rolling speed over undulating terrain. The SB120's head tube angle comes in at 66.5 degrees for a responsive steering feel that picks apart technical switchbacks with ease. The steep 76.5-degree seat tube angle and lightweight feel give the bike a lively pedaling feel that always begs to go further, faster.
This T1 build from Yeti offers an excellent spec without completely going over the top, starting with their TURQ carbon layup which is lighter than the C-Series version. The drivetrain is a hybrid X01/GX setup from SRAM, utilizing an X01 derailleur and X1 cranks to save some weight while the remaining bits are GX Eagle to keep cost down. We love to see Fox Factory suspension on this mid-tier build, with a Factory 34 GRIP2 fork up front that delivers 130mm of travel and a wide range of adjustments. We love to see durable DT Swiss XM1700 wheels on this build, and top-spec G2 RSC brakes beef up its descending capabilities. We wouldn't hesitate to use this bike for linking together high-alpine routes and even entering the local XC race series thanks to its efficient, capable performance.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
