Why We Like The Yeti ASR C3 GX Transmission Ultimate Mountain Bike
Whether we are competing in a local cross-country race or tearing up the singletrack on the weekend, the Yeti ASR stands out as a top-tier, lightweight cross-country bike. It's the lightest full-suspension bike Yeti has ever produced, thanks to its unique carbon layering process that maximizes strength and stiffness while removing excess material to save weight. To achieve its superlight status, the ASR features size-specific carbon profiles, which optimize the material usage, stiffness, and chassis flex for every sized frame. As if that wasn't enough, the ASR's rear axle and suspension linkage also went on a diet, removing excess material for the lightest possible weight. The ASR's updated Flex Stay suspension system is designed for XC racing, transforming our energy into forward momentum while providing exceptional bump sensitivity and traction. Its 66.5-degree head tube angle and forward-biased position ensure an evenly weighted bike for agile handling, while the low bottom bracket height gives us added stability at high speeds. The 75.5-degree seat tube angle ensures a properly centered position over the pedals for efficiency on technical climbs. Additional features on the ASR include two water bottle mounts, tubed internal cable routing, an integrated rear fender, and SRAM's Universal Derailleur Hanger.
The C3 GX Transmission Ultimate build of the Yeti ASR has incredible value and features electronic shifting and an upgraded suspension set. The C-series carbon frame has size-specific carbon layups for the ideal stiffness and optimal strength-to-weight ratio. The SRAM GX Transmission drivetrain has precise electronic shifting, giving us confidence and the advantage when just one slipped shift could cost us the podium. Upgraded RockShox Ultimate suspension supplies race-ready performance, with the SID Ultimate 120mm fork smoothing out the trail in front of us and the RockShox SidLuxe Ultimate rear shock throwing down relentless traction on the most challenging XC courses. Both the fork and shock are connected to SRAM's TwistLoc grips so we can flip between open, pedal, and lockout compression settings on the fly without taking our hands off the bars, and the frame has dedicated cable routing for the suspension lockout cables. DT Swiss M1900 wheels give us a lightweight aluminum cross-country wheelset combined with DT Swiss's 350 hubs for technical performance. This build is topped off with welcome features like a Fox Transfer SL Performance dropper post, SRAM Level TL brakes, and a Burgtec cockpit.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
