Why We Like The So iLL Street LV Climbing Shoe
The So iLL Street LV Climbing Shoe does it all. In the steep, the split-sole construction enhances our heel-hook security, and the downturned profile increases our power. On the face, the moderate asymmetry boosts our precision when balancing through technical sequences, and the semi-soft midsole and firm Vibram XS Grip rubber give us the support to stand on micro edges.

Love these shoes
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 8.5
As someone with narrow feet I’ve struggled to find climbing shoes that work for me. Usually the heel is baggy or my heel slides out of the shoe altogether. I’ve been thrilled to find that these shoes couldn’t fit me more perfectly. They are also exactly what I was looking for in an intermediate shoe to bridge between my beginner shoes and a more performance model. Previously I’d been hesitant to try So iLL due to some negative reviews and issues I’d heard about with the shoes, but the complete redesign they’ve done with these is awesome. Also love that that they’re vegan. Only complaint is the sizing - they recommend getting your street shoe size, and that was way to small for me, particularly for a shoe that isn’t supposed to be performance. I ended up sizing up an entire size from my street shoe and they are quite snug still, but a perfect fit.
