Why We Like The Smartwool Intraknit Active Long-Sleeve Baselayer Top
The Intraknit Active Long-Sleeve Baselayer Top is our favorite for winter running, hiking, cross-country, and other cardio-heavy cold-weather sports. While merino wool offers moisture management and light insulation, Tencel provides quick cooling and aids with wicking and drying. Both major materials are soft as can be, making this next-to-body layer comfortable as can be. Smartwool's Intraknit tech seamlessly integrates ventilation in key areas, so we stay cool as our hearts race.

Great First Layer Top
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fits perfectly, true to size. I use this at my first layer next to skin layer during my backcountry splitboard hikes and works perfectly. Stayed warm and dry the entire time.

A great base-layer shirt for outdoor activities
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an avid cyclist, but... fair weather. Once the winter comes rolling around, you'll see my bike on a trainer indoors. BUT... this year I decided to make the move outside for some winter rides and needed outdoor workout gear. I tried the base layer and jackets you get at sporting good stores, but... you get what you pay for. So I decided to go with Merino wool, and I trust SmartWool. I wore this LS shirt, bottom, jacket, and socks on an outdoor 18⁰ gravel ride, and was warm the whole time. Being Merino wool, didn't have to worry about sweat as the material is moisture wicking. So yeah, FIVE stars! Probably going to purchase a couple more.

Running Review
Part of a big gear purchase I just made from SmartWool, first time user. Tested it all out today on a 5k run in dry 44 degree low wind conditions at sundown in the DC area. This was the only piece I wore on top, here's what I wore: -Smartwool Thermal Merino Reversible Headband -Smartwool Intraknit Active Base Layer (This) -Smartwool Acrive Fleece Wind Glove -Smartwool Active Fleece Tights -Smartwool Athlete Edition Crew Socks First mile I was ever so slightly cold, but after that I was cruising and comfortable, zero thought about the temperature whatsoever. If it drops closer to 40 degrees I might add a light running vest on my top half. If it drops further down to 35 and below i will probably swap this top out for the Intraknit Thermal Merino Base Layer that I also purchased. If it gets real cold like below 20, I will add on a Smartloft Jacket and potentially get some warmer gloves/hat. I think the tights will hold up in most temperatures. Overall very happy with the gear, I'll be shopping here again. Hope this helps anyone new to cold weather running.

Softest baselayer to date!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I owed one of the Intraknit base layers and could live without a few more. Cycling 5 to 6 days a week in the Winter months required a few more base layers. These are soft and flexible for great warmth next to skin and no binding while riding.

One of my new Favorites
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used it a few times Biking. Fits close to the skin with gobs of stretch to remain comfortable. Snagged it on a branch first time wearing it. Not the end of the world, I don't mind but you might.
