Why We Like THe XC902 S-PHYRE Wide Cycling Shoe
We're looking to get to the top step of the podium this year, and the Shimano XC902 S-PHYRE Wide Cycling Shoe is just what we need to do it. There's a reason so many of the pros wear the best in the business with the XC902. This shoe is stiff, responsive, and still comfortable enough for the long haul. Shimano equips the shoe with one of its best carbon midsole's that feature an 11 of 12 stiffness rating, making this shoe almost as responsive as a track or time trial shoe. Dynalast design is also incorporated and gives our foot a supremely efficient pedaling position.

Not up to Expectations!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 43 wide
I’ve put a few hundred miles on these shoes and the comfort is not as good as expected. I switched out the liners and that helped a little bit. My XC7s were more comfortable. I can’t imagine putting a long day in these shoes.

Excellent gravel/xc mtb shoes

I usually wear mens shoes because womens bike shoes are never quite big enough. I wear an 11 (womens), and the Shimano 43 fits me great. I had the cheaper Shimanos for years, but with enough riding during the week, my feet really started to hurt. I had switched to some road shoes for awhile and really liked how much more comfortable they actually were. I also run some carbon inserts with my shoes, and figured I'd swap to a stiffer, more performant gravel/xc shoe. These are awesome. I love the boa dials, and they go both ways!! So if you want to tighten, and then loosen by one click, you can do that on the bike. It's pretty slick. The leather is soft as well, and so far I've found them to be capable in all conditions. I haven't done any serious hike-a-bikes in them, and I'm curious how the stiff sole will hold up with my foot trying to flex while hiking. But I've put a couple hundred miles on the shoes so far, and they're great. Very responsive and performant like my road shoes.
