Why We Like The Saris H3 Plus Direct Drive Smart Trainer
With the Saris H3 Plus Direct Drive Smart Trainer, riding inside our pain cave during the winter months is quieter, smoother, and more fun than ever before. This 20lb precision-balanced flywheel creates realistic inertia, handles up to 2000 watts at 20mph, and even simulates a 20% climbing grade to keep up with our heavy training program. But most importantly, with a sound specification of just 59 decibels at 20mph, we can hear our TV or music without blasting the volume and annoying our families.

All the answer to ?s I could find answers to.
I’m using this with a Specialized Epic EVO. I found no data on MTB cassette compatibility, other than the 42T size limit. Not true… maybe with shimano, but I rolled the dice and bought the XD/XDR hub and I put an Eagle 10-52 on it. So far, works perfect. It is crazy quiet! Bike drivetrain is all you hear. It paired right up with my Garmin 840. I can control resistance from the Garmin in increments of (10) right from a screen field. Otherwise ride it on ROUVY or ZWIFT like any other. Zero regrets. Very little info on pairing these up with mountain bikes.

Forever user, and will stay that way.
I bought one of the early model (Hammer) trainers on which this is based. I'm still using it 6 years later, with only expected maintenance and it rocks! When I do need/want to modernize, for sure I will get a H3 (or 4 or 5). These things are durable, accurate and the one time I needed customer support - they were great.

Exactly what we needed
Been riding this trainer for 2 weeks and it's such a huge jump from my old trainer. My son and I share the trainer and the bike that is attached to it. 12 speed is a must because now I am too fat to climb anything and he still gets many usable gears. This trainer is very responsive. The slightest increase in gradient results in increased resistance. You better shift early when you see the steep stuff coming. Extremely quiet. I wax my chains and still the H3 is quieter than the bike. Which is perfect because I decided to move my setup onto our 3 seasons porch. The barn has been too cold for me to workout in it. I am very happy with this purchase. I think it was money well spent.

I just bought the trainer H3 plus and have a 12 speed SRAM force casset. Apparently it will not fit on the shaft that came with the trainer. Do I need to get an adapter to make it work?

The product description implies that the product is ready for bikes with 142/148mm through-axle spacing between the rear forks. That is, that a 142/148mm through-axle adapter is already included. Is this true? Or do I have to buy that separately?

Are there any 135mm thru axle adapter sets available that can provide compatibility with the H3 and H3 plus trainers? Sorry if I missed any existing info on this!

What about Campagnolo 12 or 13 speed?
