Why We Like The Pivot Switchblade Pro X0 Transmission Carbon Wheel Mountain Bike
If we could only have one bike, it would be the Pivot Switchblade. The Pivot Switchblade is one of our favorite bikes due to its ability to be perfectly suited to handle almost any trail. Pivot revised the Switchblade this year, giving us more capable geometry across the board to increase our capability on the trail and drive home the quiver-killer characteristic. The new Switchblade features a slacker headtube angle for more confidence in the steeps, size-specific chainstay lengths to give every sized rider the same balanced and agile platform, and a steeper seat tube angle to provide us with a more efficient climbing position. With 142mm of DW-Link suspension travel, the Switchblade hits that sweet spot between an enduro bike and an aggressive trail bike. Dual 29-inch wheels and a lightweight carbon frame make for a bike that is exceptionally capable in rougher terrain, and the Flip Chip in the rear shock link allows us to adjust the geometry of the bike to make it longer, lower, and slacker for more capability and confidence at the bike park. The Flip Chip also allows us to run a 27.5-inch rear wheel without any after-market parts or compatibility issues, giving us the best of both worlds with a mixed-wheel setup. Additional features on the Switchblade include Integrated downtube and chainstay protectors to protect our frame from rocks and chain slaps, while the front triangle can accommodate two water bottle cages to keep us hydrated.
The Pro X0 Transmission Carbon Wheel build of the Pivot Switchblade has some of the best components on the market: an electronic drivetrain for high performance on the trails and an upgraded carbon wheelset to take our performance to the next level. First up, Pivot's lightweight carbon fiber frame is made with premium materials to give us the highest quality, lightest weight frame possible. Next, the Fox Factory Float X features multiple adjustments so we can tune our ride quality, and it has a custom tune from Pivot for enhanced ride quality. The Fox Factory Float 36, 160mm fork, has tons of compression and rebound adjustments and easily handles big hits so we can ride faster and harder. DT Swiss XMC1501 carbon fiber rims give us a lightweight, stiff, and durable wheelset for enhanced ride quality, and DT Swiss 240 hubs give us premium performance and a lightweight build. To wrap it all together, the Switchblade is fitted with Maxxis DHF and DHRII tires to give us the traction and grip we need for aggressive riding.
*Due to a high demand in the global supply chain and bike industry since the start of the pandemic, material weight and exact components are subject to change. We are working diligently to keep tech specs updated, and any adjustments will be of equal or better spec level.
