Had one already that is GOOD
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- Large I think
Happy to have found hat as it keeps out those pesky buffalo gnats! And it is long enough that generally speaking the gnats don't manage to get IN from the bottom! Also, this is our 2nd hat like this and SO happy with the first one which needed to be washed and it washed up GREAT!!!D

One Dimensional For Buggy Conditions Only.
I was hoping this bucket hat would provide sun, bugs and light precipitation protection. Bug protection only! Bug netting does not wear properly under the brim when it is not used and with no chin strap the hat is not secure for windy conditions. Trying to avoid the wider brim hats for thru hiking, however it seems unavoidable.

Gets pretty wrinkly when packed down
I like this hat and it definitely helps when you're somewhere really buggy- my only complaint is when you pack it down (it holds into itself to be about the size of a sunglass case) it get's really wrinkly and the hat can look kind of lopsided. That being said you're not wearing this hat for fashion so that's probably ok.

Underrated piece of gear
If you do any kind of outdoors activity in warm/warm-ish weather then this is something you should have in your gear pack. It's light and packable enough to just stow in the bottom of a bag all the time to have handy when bugs eventually appear.

Compact hat & lightweight
Comfortable hat just find that mesh is really thick making it hard to see through.

A summer must have!
Great addition to your outdoor gear. Lightweight and packable into a small pouch, this bug net works well at keeping your face from being mauled.

I would buy this again.
Great for hiking where there are lots of bugs. Compact and stores well.

Packs up super small.
Dog ate my last hat and it was getting annoying looking through packing tape that I used to patch it. Did buy again.

Worst sound in the world.
The second worst sound in the world is a mosquito buzzing around my face. The worst sound in the world is when the buzzing stops - that means he found a place to perch on my head. The bug bucket keeps my stress level down.

Just What I Was Looking Fir
Keeps the net away from your skin. Some bug nets lay flat on your neck and face. Allowing the little bloodsuckers to still get to you. Not with this hat. Great for keeping sun and rain out too.
