Nidecker's Altai Snowboard Boot is an integral piece for all-mountain riders with a pension for off-piste powder. The mid-stiff flex offers the support and reactivity to lay down deep carves and swerve through tightly-packed aspens. The BOA Fit System features two H4 dials and coated TX3 laces for durability, zonal fit, and lightning-fast adjustability, locking us in for the long run. The Silver liner keeps us snug but allows our toes to wiggle to prevent that frozen feeling on the chairlift. And a reliable B.F.T. Gravity 2.0 sole offers the traction we need while navigating icy lots and burly bootpacks.

Bad design
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 6.5
These boots were highly rated on "Best of Boots" for 2023 and I was excited to try them. I wear a size 6 but usually order a 6.5 in boots to accommodate thicker socks. The insert has Velcro and thick sides. Unfortunately the way that it fastens and tightens puts the front edge of the insert against the side of your legs and digs in. I tried going a little looser than I usually like and still had the problem with the insert digging in. I was just walking around my house trying to break them in. I ended up with bruises on both sides of my legs toward the top of the insert because of the way that it overlaps, even when worn looser than I would ride in. I can't imagine taking these on the mountain with what it did just walking around the house. The other thing I didn't like was the ankle is so narrow that it is hard to get your foot in, even with the boas loosened all the way.
