Why We Like The NEMO Moonlite Elite Reclining Camp Chair
NEMO's Moonlite Elite Reclining Camp Chair is the ultralight, ultra-packable backpacking chair we've always wanted. The Moonlite only weighs 1lb 2oz and packs down small, so we don't have to sacrifice pack weight or pack room to pack along a camp chair for backcountry comfort. The straps blend high tenacity polypropylene and Dyneema for an ultralight yet durable system to adjust our seating angle from upright to reclining positions, and the aluminum frame provides maximum support at a minimum weight to support hikers and campers up to 250 pounds. This chair also features a unique carrying case that double as stability platform that prevents the chair from sinking into sandy beaches and campsites.

Headed in the right direction!
I bought this chair as I am a 5'10" woman, 180 pounds and loved my Alite Monarch chair for comfort but they don't make it any more. The Helinox chair, otherwise great for tall people, has pressure points on my outer hips that are seriously uncomfortable after a long hike day. I was excited for this model as its sling looked promising for avoiding that and it did. However the seat posts and edge are a little more upward rather than outward facing and pushed into the thighs of not only me but more petite friends as well. This was regardless of seat back position, which does change the geometry of the front seat experience. That said the construction feels solid, the seat material is gorgeous and comfortable, the reclining function worked well, though most preferred it in upright position. I could not imagine taking the footprint on a backpack trip but loved that they made this their packaging and could see it being nice for a beach trip. The chair is rated for 250 lbs but I can't imagine a 250 lb body fitting into it. So NEMO - can you take this to the next level and be the first in class to make a chair that is comfortable for women with hips or folks larger than me? #everyoneoutdoors Keep making this more awesome!

Moonlight Elite, super lightweight and tough
I bought the Moonlight Elite for festival season here in New Orleans and it has been great so far! It’s surprisingly comfortable compared to other brands that aren’t even close to its weight. Ultimately I bought this chair for motorcycle trips to keep my packed weight down so I could afford other luxuries like a more robust kitchen but it would be great for paddling trips on rivers with sandy beaches. The footprint carrying case is brilliant and kept me sitting upright while others were sinking into the sandy ground where I was at the festival. Super comfy in a lightweight kit.

Functional ultralight
Lightest worthwhile chair I’ve found. Still fairly feature rich while being extremely light and packable.

One Chair to Rule Them All…
This chair punches way above its weight! It’s comfortable, easy-to-assemble, and compact when it’s packed away. I can set it up quickly after a little practice, and everything feels very secure when set up. The chair has color-coded parts to assist in simplifying the assembly process as well. I got this after using foam pads for sitting while backpacking and this has truly been a game changer. I barely notice it when it’s on my pack and it’s so relaxing to have something to sit back on at basecamp after hiking all day. I would say this is an excellent product for the weight/space-conscious backpackers who also aspire to have some trail luxuries.

Great Comfy and Light
I brought this for short back country camping and for rock climbing. Nothing beats having something to rest your back against. Very lightweight and comfy.

Nailed it!
Excellent chair! The balance of comfort and weight is incredible on this one. I've used many different backpacking chairs and this one wins by a long shot! I was impressed by how light it was, easy to set up, and amazingly comfortable considering the other factors. Not as loungy as my stargaze chair, but considering the space and weight savings on this one I'm so glad I picked it up!

Not a luxury item anymore!
I bought this chair little over a month ago and an item that was a luxury item is a necessity at 1 lb 6 oz. This is a game changer and much nicer than a sit pad at those backcountry sites.

Great chair
Was really thinking I wanted the Helinox chair but the moonlight elite felt more sturdy and a lot more comfortable!

Durable and no sinking the ground!
We carried this on one backpacking trip - my partner has always been bummed that UL chairs (If such a thing exists) tend to sink in or bottom out when he uses it. The floormat is a game changer and the structure is sound.

Lightwieght, Comfy and Versatile
I bought this a couple months ago and love it. As an outdoor educator I get lots of use out of this type of item and have 30+ days in the field with this chair so far. It is more comfortable than the similar Helinox chair I have owned for years. I used to have my legs fall asleep in the Helinox chair due to its shape and I have not had any issues like that with this Nemo chair. I love its ability to recline and appreciate the mesh base with the legs since I have worked courses in the desert as well as in snow this past month. I am recommending this chair to all my friends and coworkers.
