Why We Like The Marmot Mitre Peak GORE-TEX Jacket
We trust the Marmot Mitre Peak GORE-TEX Jacket to keep us covered when exploring in inclement weather. The Mitre is made with GORE-TEX Active 3-layer ripstop fabric for weather protection and durability. A drawcord hem cinches up the bottom of the jacket, and hook-and-loop cuffs help keep the cold drafts out of our sleeves. A helmet-compatible hood allows us to throw on the hood over our helmet to continue exploring when it starts to pour.

Great light weight Jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Marmot has a long history of making high quality outerwear. And this history continues with Mitre peak Jacket. I have been a fan of Marmot since my first jacket (the Alpine Light Jacket) which has been with me for most of my outdoor adventures into the backcountry and high altitude peak. I still remember when the 10,000 meter parka was the one of the best pieces of equipment a mountaineer could have for protection at very cold, high altitudes. Not sure if they still make that. Back to the review of this jacket. I like the fact that it is does not come with a liner so this makes it more versatile for layer. Not sure of the durability for and longevity as the material is lighter and therefor repeated use with pack straps and harnesses may wear stress areas out as they are not reinforced. I have yet to find rainy enough day where the jacket has not performed. Hopefully this waterproofing with continue over the life time of the jacket. My biggest issue now with the latest products from all makers (Patagonia, The North Face, etc) is the delamination of the gortex material after a few years of use. Hopefully they have resolved this issue. Looking forward to many years of use with this jacket. Check in with me in a few years, I will let you know how this performed

Nice jacket, tight fit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven't tried this out in the rain and will be returning because of the fit. The waist is just too tight, for reference I'm 5'11" 180 lbs with a 34 waist. The medium fits great in the sleeves, shoulders and chest but it is tight around the hips. Yes there is a 2nd zipper to zip up at the bottom to loosen it up but there I'm worried about putting too much pressure on the zipper when being active and damaging it. Other than the hips, it fit great, the hood is large to fit over a helmet but the adjustment works very well when not wearing one. The neck zips up nice and high to protect chin from the wind and all zippers are smooth and waterproof. Material felt high quality. Bummed to return it.

Rock On !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] High Quality Jacket. Light weight. I'm 5-11, 235lbs. 48 chest and XXL fits perfect. Enough room for a thick layer underneath. The only bad is the Gore-Tex material feels a little crunchy but nothing serious. Will definitely wear on my next summit. Paid half of the original price too! Totally Rocks!

Looking for a lightweight jacket, no further!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best lightweight jacket I ever owned. I wear it whether hiking or watching lacrosse games of my grandson when it looks like rain.. Terrific features like pit, zips, separate packets, spacious hood, and adjustable Velcro cuffs.

Durability?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this jacket for less than a year, and I have only used it in light rainy conditions (mostly walking around town). It is taken in and out of my backpack quite a bit. It sheds water well and keeps me dry when I have it on which would bode well for more extreme conditions. My major concern is that despite not using it much, there is already a small hole on the inside of the jacket in one of the pockets, and it looks like there might be a couple more spots where holes will appear soon. Not sure if I got a dud given other positive reviews, though. I don't think I've snagged the jacket anywhere, and if I did, it would have been significantly less severe than anything it would likely experience outdoors.

Super dry super lightweight
My Goretex Mitre Peak Jacket arrived just in time to withstand some really harsh rain, hail, and the biggest snowstorm to hit the Ausangate region of Peru in more than 25years. Needless to say I was quite comfortable with this Jacket and really enjoyed watching the heavy precipitation literally shedding off this Goretex jacket like “water off a ducks back.” Packs down small and doesn’t weigh much which was an added bonus for the backpacking trip around the mountains here. A must have for any serious outdoor enthusiasts who want to stay dry on their next outing.
