Why We Like The LEKI Makalu Cork Lite Trekking Poles
To give our legs and footing a little assistance on the ups and downs of the trail, we grab the LEKI Makalu Cork Lite Trekking Poles. The adjustable shaft length gives us the perfect fit no matter what boot we lace into, while its aluminum construction holds strong through demanding terrain yet still feels light in hand. When the climb gets the sweat flowing, the cork grip absorbs moisture to keep our hold solid, and the foam extension boosts our security when we need to slide our hands down on especially steep sections and along traverses.

Love the cork grips - can't go wrong with these poles!
I purchased my original Leki Cork Lite poles back in 2015, and they survived an entire thru-hike on the Appalachian Trail. If you need a quality trekking pole, I can highly recommend these after using them for thousands of miles on trail! I love the comfort of the cork handles. To top it off, the customer service at Leki is simply the best. They recently went above and beyond to help me replace a part on my older poles.

Sturdy reliable trekking poles
Great trekking poles- semi light weight and comfortable grips. Good adjustment mechanisms and lock reliably. With other poles I’m worried about straining too much backpacking weight and bending them, but I took these up Mt Baker and Mt Rainier (w/ opposing ice axe) and they were sturdy supporting 60+ lbs on my back. I wish they packed down a bit shorter (minimum length) for easier travel, but overall they’re great
