No more Mips
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I’m not a big fan of MIPS. Yeah, I know, it’s designed to protect your brain better, but the plastic liner is the pits. So, when I stumbled upon this helmet with the new KinetiCore tech, I decided to give it a try. This is a cool helmet for the money. The padding and scrolling retention system are top notch. It’s not as stealthy as some of the higher priced helmets, but it looks good. For me, the fit is perfect; I wear a large and I have plenty of room for adjustment. The chin strap could use some refinement, but it’s simple enough to figure out as is and does the job. Well done Lazer.

Good value, comfortable fit, nice style

Style is personal, this one looks nice to me, except the color, I wanted red, but Lazer's red is more of a burgundy to deep red fade. That said, fit can be done with fine adjustments and you can dial it in for comfort.

great helmet that doesn't break the bank
- Familiarity:

This is a very comfortable helmet that looks sharp on the road. I've not crashed it yet but i've own other Lazer helmets and I'm confident in the safety of this helmet. It holds sunglasses very well which is a crucial feature. The retention system is unique and works better than I had expected. I would recommend this helmet for anyone looking at lids in this price range.

Comfort and fit!

Absolutely love the new Scroll adjust system! It is so easy to reach the back of the helmet to micro-adjust to the perfect fit even while you have it on. The adjuster is like a grippy rubber belt on the back of the helmet. Super easy to slide. Long hair - no worry. It is super comfortable with a ponytail. Helmet is incredibly well ventilated with large holes - a must when riding in the summer heat in the south. Air passes through nicely and it feels very light on the head. I feel confident with new Kineticore protection system and I read that it uses less plastic which I am super happy about! Fits true to size - I got my standard medium and there is a lot of room for size adjustment.

New tech is really cool
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
I've ridden with Giro and Bell helmets for over 20 years. I loved them and never saw a reason to change. But then I heard about Kineticore. You see, I have cracked three of those Giro/Bell helmets due to crashing. Once I was hit by a car, once I cracked some ribs in a crit and once I slid out on a slick patch. There worst was when I slid out, I whacked my head HARD! Probably had a concussion but never got it checked. Anyway, always replaced each helmet with the same version. But when I read about kineticore and how it is better with real world crashes with rotational movement, I figured I'd try it. My current Bell is perfectly fine, no cracks but at my age I am starting to think about my long term health as I am not "invincible" like I was in my 20s. So far I have not tested how well this helmet holds up in a crash and to be honest, I hope I never do. But if so, I am confident I am protected better than any other helmet I've used. The helmet looks cool while wearing (which not all do) and is comfy. I wear a medium and I'd say this fits ever so slightly tighter than Giro/Bell mediums. I wouldn't size up, it's not that much tighter but if you are already a little tight with a Giro or Bell, you might want to try size up.
