Why We Like The Descender LS Zip Jacket
For a fleece that can do it all, we turn to the Descender. The itch-free woolly blend wicks away moisture as we build heat on the skintrack, dries quickly to keep us warm while schralping, and staves off the funk through multiple wears as we chase powder.

A great mid layer
I got this jacket to wear as a mid layer for skiing. I wanted something thinner than a puffy but still warm. Pretty well what I was looking for. Not as warm as a puffy but close. Very comfortable to wear. Unfortunately I decide to size up, that was a mistake because it's big. I look like I have Mr Rogers sweater on.. That's no fault of the jacket.. It is made very long in the arms and body regardless. So stick with the sizing chart.. It's at a great mid layer and I'm glad I bought it..

The perfect all-mountain mid-layer
I have been wearing various Icebreaker merino products for years and swear by them, but this was my first Icebreaker Descender jacket. I love it! It is the perfect all-mountain mid-layer. For back-country skiing it layered perfectly over my Icebreaker 260 baselayer leaving enough room to comfortably fit an extra down insulating layer under my shell when needed. The thumb loops were very comfortable and the arm length was generous. I can’t wait to take it hiking this summer.

Not up to scratch!
The sizing of Icebreaker products are inconsistent. This product runs larger than other Icebreaker products. Not good!

Merino deacender
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a pro patroller and have worn it every day since I got it!!! Does that say enough? I have ten other layers to choose from.

Warm, stylish and very comfortable
I like the athletic fit and how soft and comfortable it is. I have been wearing this for my evening walks when it has been cold during the wintertime in Arizona.

Returned for two reasons
- Very long arms (this is something I have noticed earlier with Icebreaker-products. Dont know why, its always like a couple centimeters too long. Its like Icebreaker cater to very tall people gorilla arms. - Chest pocket not really compatible with modern day smart phones. You can squeeze it in but too much hassle. - Material is also thinner than i anticipated.

Poor quality causes elbows to become threadbare.
Elbows wore very quickly. I didn’t notice until it was out ow warranty (12 months). Icebreaker acknowledged that they expect their clothing to hold up much longer but did nothing.

Great piece.
I think this is a great piece .....warm, form fitting if that's your style, appropriate for work as athletic wear or casual ... Or great active mid level. Checks a whole.bunch of boxes. No regrets with the addition of this piece.
