Why We Like The HOKA Anacapa 2 Low GTX Shoe
Whether hiking or backpacking, our footwear is an important piece of our gear and needs to be as versatile as the trails we are on. The HOKA Anacapa Low GTX Shoe is one of our go-to, low-profile hiking shoes, incorporating features that make the trail more enjoyable to explore. Made with a Nubuck leather and recycled polyester upper, the Anacapa is comfortable, durable, and has an abrasion-resistant toe cap. A GORE-TEX waterproof, breathable membrane seals out the water so we can go hiking through flooded trails and low creeks without worrying about getting our socks wet. A Vibram Megagrip outsole provides unparalleled traction on nearly any terrain, and an EVA midsole helps with shock absorption to reduce fatigue on longer hikes. The Anacapa Low GTX shoe is made with recycled and organic materials to produce a more environmentally-friendly shoe.

Would not purchase again
Bought a pair of these less than a year ago from Eastern Mountain Sports and have worn them frequently enough that I think I'm capable of writing an honest review. Initially purchased because I'd heard how comfortable HOKAs are and wanted a new hiking shoe, but I've found the footbed to be stiff, cheap feeling and painful if worn too long. If walking or hiking in the rain, the design of the heel kicks water up and soaks the bottom of whatever pants I'm wearing. Additionally, they've developed an annoying clown-like squeak that won't go away. I'm super disappointed as I was initially excited about them, but I now regret wasting the $180 and not returning them off the bat.

like the Anacapa 1 better!
I loved the Anacapa 1 low GTX, in fact, I wore them out. I ordered the Anacapa 2 low GTX which replaced the 1. I don't like it as well. It doesn't fit snugly enough around the ankle and the laces are tough to get tight. I ordered on-line and didn't try them on first. I should have. They are ok, but I won't wear on long hikes as I had hoped. The fit is just not there. Disappointed.

Would not buy again and won't recommend to anyone!!!!
These were advertised as all day comfort, there is no cushioning or support of any sort!! I'm a sales representative, I'm on my feet all day and my feet were killing me by the time I got home!! I wasted a lot of money that I could have spent on something else that I really needed!!!!!

I love my HOKAS
I bought these specifically to take on a trip to the UK thinking we could hit some wet weather. From the moment I took them out of the box they were so comfortable. I figured I'd give myself a few months of break in time, but none needed. I work at a ski area and wore them 10 hours straight. Lots of support and very comfortable. I haven't had a chance yet to test their water proofness but I'm sure they will be great!

Hoka does it again!
I've had 2 foot surgeries and worn Koka shoes for years. This is my first Hoka hiker. I LOVE IT! It feels great and works well. I highly recommend it! I always size up half size for Hoka.

Not quite as awesome as my other Hokas
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- 10
I can't say which style my previous pair is, but this pair is a bit narrow at the front of the foot and the heel slips a little. To be fair, the other pair I tried on and purchased at a running store. This pair I ordered online. I like the support, and they're working fine for short hikes so far.

Not what I hoped
I love my Hoka's, they have completely solved my feet issues and I will be a forever customer. I was excited to try their hikers, but I found them uncomfortable. I know hikers are stiffer, but these were an uncomfortable stiff. I am hopeful to try again later as the hikers evolve. Every foot is different so I hope they work for you.
