Not waterproof at all and weird height
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I had been interested in trying out bib ski pants so went with these. The height was a bit weird- definitely just a tall pant vs a Bib - but I kept them as I figured I got a deal and would be worth it to try out the trend /they were a lot cheaper than other bib pants. They’re awful. Not waterproof at all, even on the first wear, and do not keep me warm. These were also my first Helly Hansen purchase, and will be my last.

Sadly, a letdown

I'm from Southeast Alaska, and we basically live in Helly Hansen rain gear. I was excited to try these bibs because HH is such a reliable brand, but was disappointed. Here's why: -Not very waterproof out of the box, even in light to moderate moisture. My legs and butt were soaked after a 3 hour ski day in wetter snow. -Fit is weird. Fine through the waist and lower legs, but the hips and upper thighs are super wide, giving you that Oompa Loompa look. -Straps are garbage. They don't stay cinched in place, so they're constantly slipping off the shoulder and need readjustment every few hours. A few pros: -Easy to move and tour in. Also easy to pee in. -Great breathability (probably because they're not very waterproof...) -Pockets are awesome. Big enough for a beacon and to store other bits and bobs. If you're in a drier climate, these will work fine. Overall though, the surprising lack of decent waterproofing and attention to detail (especially with the straps) is not worth the price. Sigh...
