High quality jacket
The very definition of durable. I’ve been wearing mine on hikes for 6+ months, and I can tell this is going to be a lifetime piece. The highest quality materials throughout. The only thing is I haven’t figured out what the bungee strap is for, sewn inside the back of the jacket. The hood is very versatile, as is the button down neck. The wire in the hood for shaping is great. Very roomy pockets in front. The leather zipper handles are another great touch.

The hood it’s massively massive.
I bought it after many years of looking at one , excellent garment bullet proof feeling, don’t get to close to fire 🔥 or else does burn, the cuffs feel they needed one more adjustment setting tighter, it’s very comfortable, looks classy no Doubt, not cheap too

Wearable Shelter
I've had it for about two months now, which I guess is not that long, but it really had plenty of opportunity to shine in precarious autumn weather in Belgrade. It has been warn in -2 to +10 C temperatures; through light showers and brief downpours; in cold wind around 40 - 50 km/h. In addition, I had it on when the window of my van couldn't close in the middle of the highway, driving 120 - 130 km/h, in the outside temperature of around 3 C. I felt the wind, just as I felt the rain each time I was caught in it, but I was never cold nor wet, and I haven't even come around to wax it yet.

Great bushcrafting jacket
I've had this anorak for 4 years, if you are into bushcraft and want a tough outer shell this is for you. This is not a waterproof coat, you have to (Wax it properly) to make it (water resistant) the more care you put into it the greater the rewards and then it will hold out an for an hour or so in heavy rain, however this anorak does dry quickly if soaked. Where this does excel is on the cold crisp days/snow/winds, walking/bushcrafting, it holds the perfect temp without condensation and there is so many options for ventilation and coverage with the hood for all conditions. (This is not for your average dog walker, this for your more serious outdoors person that knows and will look after thier gear)

Great anorak with a few bugs
I just received my No. 8, and my first impression is it looks great and rock-solid. I like the reinforcements at the elbow and buttocks, and the hood is fantastic with all the adjustments it allows. My only complaint is about the waist adjustment cord and its overall design. The small plastic springy clip that holds it is already stuck and not tight enough, so the rope is sliding toward its initial position too easily. Also, it's a bit tricky to manipulate and adjust the waist sizing. Luckily, you won't be fiddling with it too often. I will probably tie a knot in it when I'm 100% sure about the adjustment. Everything else is fantastic and well-designed, with very nice finishing touches such as the easy-to-grab leather tab for each zipper. I'm used to Filson quality for other outdoor jackets I own, and I must admit that No.8 will put some of them to shame! I'm 5'8" (1,73 cm) and 158 lbs with broad shoulders and and athletic shape, and the small fits just fine, with typical "just-a-bit-too-long" sleeves from Fjallraven. But that's more a feature than a bug if you own any Fjallraven garment! ;)

Work horse
As others have stated, this piece of kit is built like a tank. It's served me well hiking and camping in the Appalachian wilderness areas and around town. Tip: there isn't any "give"/stretch in the G1000 fabric so I've found pulling my arms through first, before pulling it over my head and body works best. Some folks also suggest unzipping the side zips. I'm 6' and 190lbs (34 waist) and Medium fits nicely with plenty room for a wool sweater underneath.

Excellent
I don't understand why everyone says these fit very large. I purchased an XL as suggested (5 '9"- 215lbs). I have broader shoulders and chest and XL fits well even a bit snug to pull over initially. I suggest go by recommend size, if you have broader shoulders/chest. The jacket is decent. I do find the zippers to be a bit skimpy for this expensive jacket. The jacket excels in colder weather and snow, because the hood is great, obviously proper layering necessary. If the snow is wet or it rains it does saturate. And heavy coat of wax recommended, will help a bit, but not solve issue completely. If price doesn't scare you off it's a good jacket with some short comings. I do not regret my purchase the pros outweigh the cons.

The Land Rover of Anorak's
This is make like when things used to be made to last. A heavy wind and water resistant Anorak with a large front pouch for gloves, goggles, cap ect. I don't know of a heavier made Anorak on todays market.

The best jacket ever
I wanted the Anorak for years. my wife bought it for me for Christmas 2 years ago. I've worn it on many of our wilderness adventures and haven't been let down yet! Exactly what I was hoping it to be. I have the 2-tone and it is perfect. I've worn my Anorak in the cold of Alaska with just a tee shirt underneath and was perfectly comfortable. As I'm only 5'7" it is a little long on me but I love it and wear it regularly. I've waxed it and it keeps the cold and wet out.

Field Jacket-Poncho for Dense Forest-Bush
This “jacket” is a bit like a suit of armor! It is a superb outer layer for fieldwork and/or play in the wilderness and in all weather- especially in dense forests. Anyone who has done fieldwork in dense northern forests knows exactly how quickly the bush can shred clothing to rags in less than a season! The material and construction of this coat will more-than-survive the most abrasive bush! Being made entirely of G-1000 it can be thoroughly treated with wax- making it remarkably waterproof. G-1000 fabric is fantastic- comfortable, quiet, extremely durable, and reasonably lightweight (considering its attributes). That being said- this heavy-duty jacket is not light compared to modern ultralight synthetic jackets- it is not intended to be. Sizing. I am 178cm (5’10”) tall and a physically-fit 86kg (190lbs). Fjallraven consistently recommends a size-Large for me (and generally fit is bang on- Medium would be too small). Although I do not think of myself as a “Large” man- I have relatively broad, thick shoulders. I have tried on many Fjallraven tops/jackets (and own a number of them), and- although there is enough volume through the torso in a Medium- I simply cannot get a Medium to fit me through the chest and shoulders- I have consistently needed a Large- until I decided to purchase this jacket. This jacket will fit me in either Medium or Large (I have tried both on). The recommended size (i.e. Large for me) makes this jacket fit like a poncho with arms. This is not necessarily a bad thing (depending on your intended use)- the extra volume and length of the recommended size allows for almost limitless layering, and the extended tail offers a tough durable seat! For my intended use (forestry fieldwork), the Medium is enough volume and length- I can fit a fully-insulated mid-layer jacket underneath. But, I could certainly see how one might want the Large. My point- either the recommended size, or one size smaller, will work in this jacket- depends on how trim a fit you want (this is not true of other Fjallraven jackets in my experience). This is a heavy-duty field jacket- the durability is second to none. If I was still a professional timber faller I would strongly consider buying an extra one! (I don’t know whether I want my standard field jacket to be covered in pitch and chain oil!) Highly recommended!
