Apparently this pant is for "casual lounging" only, a piece of info I certainly missed while searching for actual work clothing that accommodate women's bodies. Yet again just another pair of pants with knee pad inserts and no possible way to use a knee pad because their skinny jeans. Clearly I made some mistakes on my part in the pair that I ordered, however i'm thoroughly disappointed nonetheless. This clothing is supposed to be for working in, no one it buying this kind of thing to casually lounge in. The pants fit well/ as expected in the waist (unlike Carhartts marketed to women) but they are NOT for working in, they are also not for casual lounging, because again, who wants to lounge in skinny jeans with a knee pad that doesn't fit??? If I had put knee pads in these pants I wouldn't be able to get them back on over my legs, that = NONFUNCTIONAL. Luckily this is no new issue as i'm sure many women in the trades know, and similarly to how i've altered other pants in the past, I cut them open and sewed in an extra 4" to each leg. 4" was essentially the minimum amount of fabric needed to make this clothing item functional. They fit great in the waist and I now enjoy wearing them as work pants, but $100 is way to much to spend on clothes that require alterations to be usable. Not to mention the knee pads land in a bad spot, almost missing my knees completely during use, requiring lots of adjusting and mostly cover my thighs. Needless to say, these pants were poorly designed, poorly thought out and incorrectly marketed. An extremely off putting experience with a clothing brand supposedly for women in the trades. Additionally it appears as though Dovetail only offers pants with working knee pads for women in clothing materials I'm not interested in, as stretchy synthetic fabric neither holds up as well or functions as well as canvas. It looks to me, that just like Duluth, Dovetail makes work clothes for women as long as the toughest work they see is in the garden... I don't work in a garden Dovetail. Do better.
