Not for me?
I’m struggling a bit with my Cascadia 17 shoes. They fit well (as do most Brooks shoes). My problem is that I’m experiencing a lot of big toe and ball of foot pain — and I suspect it is from the 8mm toe drop. I previously had the Caldera 5 shoes and LOVED them. But the newer versions have such thick soles and increased toe drop that I haven’t given them a try. The Cascadia 17 seemed good at first and I didn’t realize they have such a significant toe-drop until I starting researching my toe pain today. (It reminds me of a pair of On Cloudsurfer shoes that caused the same pain). Now I’m paying the price on my trail runs. I’m considering sending them back….

Best trail shoes!
I love this trail shoe! Not only is it great looking ( I purchased the camo design) they're comfortable out of the box. So far I've only been on easy trails with them due to knee issues. I don't for see any issues on technical trails.

cascadia 17
I love this shoe. I suffer with blisters in most shoes i wear but i havent had any since wearing these shoes. they are comfortable and supportive and wouldnt hesitate to recommend them. the only really small downside is the laces are a little short for my liking.

Upper feels amazing; redesigned too cushioned
For me, these shoes have been redesigned to be too cushioned. I packed them on a running tour and within a day of walking around town before the tour began, I had the nagging feeling of tendons stretching in my feet and ankles that harkened soft-tissue issues. I've been running in the Cascadia 16 for as long as they've been available. I need the firmer footbed, especially around the heel area.

Love!
I love the Cascadia 17 Trail Shoes! Feel very supportive while walking on uneven terrain when hiking. My only critique is was not a fan of most of the color options except the lighter white/pink color which has stung to watch them get dirty! Lol

I wore them last weekend for an easy trail hike and a then a three mile trail run. They didn’t feel too clunky for the hike and they had great traction on a moderate rocky and high incline run.

Nice grippy roomy runners
Purchased a 6.5 wide as I have wide feet. The toe box is very roomy and probably the largest one i've had in a pair of trainers and it was very comfortable. Nice grip and not too bad on roads as well. Only complaint is that the laces are very short. As someone who needs a heel lock I will have to change the laces on these for my own longer ones.
