Excellent for trails and mountain biking
Perfect amount of support and firmness in sole. Does not have excessive rocker. Excellent traction. I wear cushioned socks and size up 1/2 size. Very durable shoe great for hiking, rocky runs, and mountain biking. I have worn Cascadias on two bike trips across the U.S. and the GDMBR mtn bike route.

Close but a miss...
This would be a five star shoe except for a couple changes to the upper from the Cascadia 16. First, some background...I've been running trails for over 35 years. I loved the first Cascadia, and probably went through more than a dozen pairs. Then Brooks lost their way; the Cascadia drifted from the trail shoe I loved. I moved to other brands. Enter the Cascadia 16...boom, a great revamp!! Brooks seemed to go back to their original roots with a great update, and I reunited with Brooks. Then after a very brief period, Brooks introduced the Cascadia 17. And I'm bummed again. Yes, the new Trail Adapt System is definitely an upgrade. But for goodness sake, why add volume to the forefoot? It makes the shoe unstable on technical trails. And what's up with those silly lace loops? You can't get a good fit/lockdown. Just stick with the simple eyelets in the rubberized overlay, as with the 16's; don't overthink or listen to some marketing wonk. I've seen pictures of the Cascadia 18 and, sadly, it's got MORE of those silly lace loops. So I suspect it'll be a pass too. Make the Cascadia the great shoe that it should be. Use the sole/Trail Adapt System and add the forefoot volume and the simple lacing system found on the Catamount 2 and BOOM...you've got a five star (or more) long-distance trail shoe! And PLEASE don't mess with the Catamount; 2 and 3 are essentially the same. It's an INCREDIBLE trail shoe for technical trails and racing.

Comfortable.
Mine were a bit wide for my foot but not much concern for the low miles i plan to run. These are very comfortable and comfy for the heel striker i am.

White for trail runners?
I have been backpacking wearing Cascadia for about 8 years and need a size 14W. With the Cascadia 17 the only color in my size is the white! White for a trail runner? Really? I bought them but will be looking for other shows.

Worth the money…
Great comfortable and supportive shoe! I have bought several Brooks shoes and these are my favorite by far.

Love the Cascadia 17
While I’m not a runner, I do have a daily 4.5 mile walk that includes approximately 600’ elevation gain generally on streets and sidewalks in West Seattle. I’m rarely confused with a feather so I need a sturdy shoe. The Cascadia 17 is all of that, plus immediate comfort, plus excellent traction / grip. Some trail shoes have a really aggressive tread pattern but the rubber is too hard so they slip on wet sidewalks and streets. Not the case here. My only qualm is that I’m not in love with the color pattern I chose and wish I’d selected a different option. This is a fantastic shoe!

Great shoes!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Comfortable and stable shoes. Great for running on trails. Doesn’t hurt how good they look either.

Brooks Cascadia 17
Was excited to try these new cascadia 17, I have over 100 trail miles on them currently. I have notice hot spots developing on the forefoot that have never experienced in any other Brooks (Ghost 14/15, GTS 21/22) that I have owned on longer runs over 13 miles. Overall the shoe does feel great, the rock plate is definitely a plus and the tread pattern seems to be solid. I would give them a 5 but the hot spot issue on longer runs is why I gave them a 3. I will be using them on a 50k trail run in May and going to cross my finger those hot spots don't become an issue.

Cascadia 17 Camo
Best shoes I own. I even ordered two pairs. One for Hockey and the other as hiking or trail shoes. Thanks Brooks.
