Only one serious flaw
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I've worn Bell helmets for decades. I like almost everything about this helmet. My requirements in a helmet are excellent fit, excellent ventilation, a visor, ease of mounting a helmet light, and good protection, of course. With a Bell helmet, the last is a "given." This helmet has all the rest, and thanks to the excellent padding design is very comfortable. The serious flaw is the strap, which is much thinner than I'd like, and the binders below the ears easily slip up and especially down. In fact, as received, I could not keep them properly adjusted. Inspection revealed the straps were not properly threaded through them. Whether this is an assembly defect from the factory, or whether they were mis-threaded afterwards, they slid easily. Even properly threaded, they can creep down. I thought of replacing them with the clamps that came with my old Bell helmet, but the strap on this helmet is too thin. FYI: from the bottom of the strap binders, the straps should go under, over, under, then through the top, split, bar.
