Why We Built The Backcountry Powder Ridge Insulated Ski Pant
Sure, touring is nice, but we still love to get after it at the resort with some lift-powered hot laps. So, we created the Powder Ridge Insulated Ski Pant to keep us warm, dry, and comfortable as we hunt down hidden stashes all over the mountain. These waterproof, breathable ski pants keep us comfortably dry as we surf through pow fields and ensure we stay warm on brutally cold lift rides. I waited until the end of the season to post. I'm 5'8, 145 and the M are a comfy fit- even better with the adjustable waistband. Perfect length. These made it through an Epic Utah powder trip (record season), and yes I'd get powder spots of wetness on the thighs, but I was never cold on the chair. And I get cold. Originally I was going to do the down-pants under gore-tex shell thing this year but I found these and never needed to. Great value, great performance.

Comfortable Resort Pants

I've worn these pants all season and really like them! They add a nice bit of insulation on cold days but aren't too hot to wear up to 40 degrees. If you're planning on wearing these in very cold weather, make sure to add a solid baselayer underneath, like our Spruces Merino Bottoms. They make the perfect combo! I'm 5'4" so they are a tad long for me, but they definitely do the trick. I love the adjustable waistband! It is so nice to have when your heavy phone or chairlift beers in your pocket weigh down your pants and make the band sag below your hip bones. On soaking wet days, you probably want a true Gore-Tex pant, but these are great for most days in the resort.

I wanted to love it

I bought it to match the last chair jacket. The color is perfect, the fit is mire relaxed than fitting but still flattering. I am 5,4 140 and medium is a tad bigger but totally adjustable with valcro. The huge down is that its not really good insulated or waterproof. Heavy snow starts melting on pants right away leaving wet spots and you will start feeling it on the lift. Its not really wet on the inside but the chill from wetness is there. The look of wet stains is not pretty either. Button line - its perfect for blue sky day, not rainy or snowy day. It will make u feel cold regardless of the insulation.

Love these pants. I previously had a low-waisted shell pant and these are amazing compared to those. My main motivation for buying was the insulation but loving them for the comfortable fit and ease. The seem to stretch and allow for wider range of movement. Love the velcro adjusters to accommodate for the wide range of layers sometimes needed for skiing in Minnesota. I got a small and am about 125lbs. 5 foot 6 and just a little long without boots but it doesn't bother me.

Love these pants! Sized up for crash pads and layers. They always stay up. The velcro belt built-in is great. Big pockets. Wish they had thigh vents though.

These ski pants are amazing! The best feature (in my opinion) is not shown in the pictures. The back of the waistband is a soft sweatpant material that adds SO much comfort. I bought another brand and returned them because these checked all the boxes.

I love these pants - they are soft, comfy and so warm. The color is great and the fit is perfect. Not too baggy so they look amazing for an insulated pant. I am 5'08" 129# and the small fits me perfect! Can't wait to use these pants A LOT!

I must have ordered and tried on 10 different pairs of ski pants before finding these. They are awesome! I am a 5'10" , 14/16 and the XL fit perfect! I just wish I found them when there were more colors available. I even bought a pair of men's large as a back up, as sometimes those fit my athletic body. I didn't need them because the woman's pair fit so well and looked more flattering. I was about to send the men's pair back when my husband tried them on and couldn't believe how great they were, especially for the price! He's keeping them! Thank you BC! You've got a new customer!

I ordered this ski pant in both medium and large. The medium fit perfectly. I am an athletic build with muscular thighs and not much of a waistline. I typically wear anywhere from a 7/8 to 9/10 in pants. The fit on these was great even with a thick base layer underneath. They kept me warm in temperatures that were less than 20 degrees and windy. For the money, they are a great value. I tried the large on to be sure that I had chosen the right pair and the large was baggy; even when I cinched up the waist tabs. I would say these run true to size. Just the right amount of stretch and the length was good too. You can't go wrong with this ski pant. I would highly recommend them.

I love these snow pants. I am 5' 6" and 140 lb and I ordered a medium. I have big hips and bum and the mediums worked perfectly. Generally, pants fit me too small in the hips and too large in the waste, but these pants fit me great. I thought the waste might be too big, but with the built-in velcro sinchers, they fit great. I also like that they have the gaters at the bottom to keep snow out. They are flattering and fitted in the right places, but they also allow for a full range of motion and I can actually move comfortably! The inside sort of reminds me of a puffy coat and while I haven't worn them outside yet, I think they will be plenty warm and I am from Alaska. I think my sister is also going to order a pair because she liked mine so much. I ordered the black color. Would definitely recommend! Seem like great-quality snow pants.
