Great no-tie system, but heavy shoe

Our son has cerebral palsy & we are still on the hunt for the best running shoe for him. These shoes come in a wide size - great for fitting over his AFO - and the BOA system works really well, though ours son has a hard time easily reaching the dial on his affected side. The only real problem I have with them is that, because they are meant to be trail shoes, the soles are bulky and make the shoes heavy, so our guy can’t run as well. We tried the Dynasoft Reveal style, but the plastic cover on top gapped on his AFO and didn’t seem to fit right, not to mention the lack of breatheability was a concern. Hoping New Balance can solve these issues for the next season!
