Shoes are not wide toed at all
I bought these as they were labeled to have a wider, more natural fit. Completely untrue. I took them out of the box and immediately saw how narrow the toes are. They are no wider than my regular tennis shoes and much less wide than a different brand I own, as shown in the pictures.

Too Narrow
This shoe is not the Altra feel- it's too narrow which gave me foot pain and shorter in the toe. I am now switching to Topo since they know how to stick with wide toe boxes. Sad bc Altra used to be best

Feels great but already wearing a hole in the shoe
Love how these shoes feel. Super comfy. In fact, they're the most comfortable running shoes I've ever bought and I've been a runner for 30 years. The only negative thing about these shoes is my big toe has already worn a hole on top of the soft material. I've only had them for less than 2 months, so the hole was disappointing. This shoe offers a lot of cushion and I love how roomy the toe box is. Great shoe!

Third and Favorite Altra Shoe Purchase
This is my third style of Altra shoe I've purchased and so far is my favorite. I like how the toe box is still roomy but not as wide as other styles. Very breathable and dries quick when they get wet. One thing I don't love is that the shoelaces don't always stay tied unless I remember to double knot but that's a minor problem and easy fix.

I ran a 50 mile race in this shoe
I love this shoe. I have almost 400 miles on my current pair, and just finished a 50 mile road/trail race in them 2 weeks ago!

Tiny shoelaces
These are my 3rd pair of Altras and I'm disappointed. The laces are so short it's hard to tie them. And they untie while running because there just isn't enough lace to make the knot tight enough. Customer service suggested I buy new laces. So much research is done on these shoes and the product is faulty. I shouldn't have to buy new laces for brand new and expensive running shoes. Shoes are narrower than my old Torins and Lone Peaks but are still comfy. Love Altras but customer service get a zero.

Durable
I bought these because they were on sale, they weren't my first pair of Altras in this width but these are more narrow. The other pair I bought on the same day are the "same width" and same size but these were too tight across the forefoot. So why do I still give a 5 star review? Because I was able to give them to my 12 yo daughter whose feet are just a little bit bigger and they fit her great. She's really tough on shoes but so far they are holding up well. A lot of people complain about the shoe laces coming untied, they do. So you can either double knot them or just get a cheap replacement pair of laces from the grocery store. These last longer than all the Topos I've ever owned.

# 1 shoe
I have had 9 pairs of this shoe. It is the only shoe that I can wear with my bad ankles. It is lightweight, has arch support & fits well.

Why completely change the shoe width?
I don't understand why on earth shoe companies insist on completely changing the footprint of a shoe with a new model. I purchased the Rivera 3s because I liked the Rivera 2s, not because I wanted to try a completely different shoe. The Rivera 3s are so much narrower than the 2s that I'm unable to run in them. I guess the endless cycle of finding a shoe that I like just in time for the manufacturer to discontinue it or completely change it has begun again.
